During the May Day holiday, while many people choose to escape the hustle and bustle of the city to seek distant landscapes, I choose to return to my roots—Xicheng District's Chunmiao Alley and Chuxin Garden in Panzhihua City. Here lies the place of my childhood memories, and in my heart, it is where the phoenix flowers bloom. As a 'third generation Panzhihua resident' who grew up in the old town, I have deep affection for every brick and tile here. The phoenix flowers here are the most vivid color in my memory. Whenever the flowers bloom, the fiery red color can always light up the entire old town, becoming a beautiful landscape. However, time flies. With the rapid development of the city, most of these places face the fate of demolition and reconstruction. The old brick walls and houses seem to tell the stories of the past, while the phoenix flowers become even more vibrant in the long river of history. They complement these old buildings, as if telling us: even though times change, some things will never change. For this shoot, I specifically chose a low-exposure technique. The dark tones of the image highlight the thickness and historical sense of the old town. Against this dark background, the phoenix flowers are like 'a dim fire,' silently burning, yet extraordinarily dazzling. They are dotted between the brick walls and houses, as if they are the soul of the city, silently guarding this land. Every photo records a story.
