Decent Budget Hotel at the Heart of Tacloban

As a solo traveler, I always look for budget-friendly hotels which are still up to the mark. During my quick stay in Tacloban City, Hotel Estrella did not disappoint me when I booked a solo room for one night. The hotel facilities and room furnishings up to date and well maintained as the hotel is relatively new. Location is also great as it is in the heart of the city - just beside Gaisano Capital and also near Metro Tacloban Mall. It is situated near the famous Sto Nino Shrine, City hall and Sto Nino Church. Various restaurants, cafes and pubs are also available near the area. They have a Skye bar/cafe (wine and coffe) which has some cool vibes and an in-house resto but I was not able to try both. Breakfast buffet is available but sadly nothing much to choose from - something that can be improved on. Hot shower is available but will need some trick to operate it. Cable tv with various channels is also available but reception for some channels is not good. I did not needed parking, but parking is available with no shade though. Overall, still a good stay and value for money if you don’t mind the mentioned cons.
