I toured around the old Hankou area during the May Day holiday, and I was thoroughly entertained by the old buildings. One can feel that a century ago, Wuhan was definitely an extremely important financial center in China, as most of the existing old buildings were banks at the time, such as the Siming Bank, Taiwan Bank, China Industrial Bank, Shanghai Savings Bank, Central-South Bank, and the old site of Hankou Bank, among others. The variety of banks was so great that it even surpassed Shanghai.
