The Ten-Mile Gallery, popularized by President Carter, requires a bit of imagination!

Visiting Yangshuo, of course, the must-do activity is cycling through the 'most beautiful' Ten-Mile Gallery. Along the way, the landscape is accompanied by mountains and waters, with peaks that are both strange and beautiful, like something out of a poem or painting. In 1987, because former U.S. President Carter once came here for a bike ride, it is also known as 'Carter Scenic Road'. Of course, the Ten-Mile Gallery itself is not a perfect cycling route; it is actually part of National Highway 321! During weekends and holidays, it can get so congested that you start to question life. Forget about cars, sidecars, and electric vehicles; bicycles and walking can get you around faster. The Ten-Mile Gallery is free of charge, starting from West Street in Yangshuo, and strings together attractions such as Totem Ancient Trail, Heavenly Music Butterfly Spring, Yulong River, Gongnong Bridge (with the Camel Crossing the River on the west side), Big Banyan Tree, Moon Hill, Julong Pool, Jinshui Rock, Guilin Eternal Love, Ruyi Peak, and other scenic spots, all of which require separate tickets. The Yulong River route includes the Scholar's Path to the Imperial Examinations, unlocking the ancient city site of Guiyi. Here you can find the Tang Dynasty city walls, the Song Dynasty Xian Gui Bridge, the Ming Dynasty Yulong Bridge (Huilong Bridge), Fuli Bridge, and the Qing Dynasty Scholar's Manor, among others. Along the way, there are also many rock climbing, hot air balloon, helicopter, and camping experience points, all of which require additional fees. If you don't want to buy a ticket for Moon Hill, you can go to Li Village, which is the best spot for a distant view of the full moon. Walking in the flowing landscape painting, you can experience the karst topography and the traditional mud baths of the Zhuang ethnic group up close. The Ten-Mile Gallery is a paradise for photographers and painters, with the mountains gradually taking on many interesting names, such as Dolphin Emerging from Water, Flame Mountain, Pigsy Sunbathing, Golden Cat Exiting Cave, Horse Elephant Rocks, Monkey's Worry, Camel Crossing the River, and Beauty Dressing, among others. Strolling through it, you not only need a bit of imagination and mood, but also a pair of eyes that can discover beauty. In the places where few people tread, the landscape is quiet, and so is the heart. Along the way in the Zhuang villages, there are also many interesting place names, such as Zhudu Village, Huangni Dang (pronounced 'dang').
