A leisurely and quiet place to visit~. Xian Shi Ancient Town nestles by the Fu Xi River, having withstood countless storms, yet still retains its charm. It was once a vital passageway for the transportation of well salt out of Zigong, hailed as the pearl on the ancient salt road. It is also famous for its 'four streets, four warehouses, five temples, three docks, one carp with three archways, nine steles, and ten lands,' as well as its exquisite classical architecture and the flourishing of Buddhist culture. Therefore, it has been approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government as a provincial-level historical and cultural city and has been successively identified as a provincial-level small town pilot town. The ancient town harbors a wealth of ancient cultural landscapes and natural scenery. Even the name of the ancient town originates from a beautiful legend: 'The daughter of the Jade Emperor, intoxicated by the beauty of the mortal world, descended to earth and lay down by the banks of the Fu Xi River for a leisurely deep sleep, hence the name—Xian Tan.' Thus, the flavor of ancient architectural art and Buddhist culture fills this ancient town. The ancient architectural complex from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties: Nan Hua Palace (built in 1962), Tian Shang Palace (built in 1850) with red walls and black tiles, high arching Ao, carved beams and painted rafters, wooden carvings of birds and beasts, flowers, insects, and fish, all in various shapes and lifelike. The Buddhist culture here is also very prosperous, with numerous Buddha statues and sculptures, incense lingering all year round, ancient temple bell sounds echoing through the ancient town, and the 'Fairy Maiden Valley,' once known as 'Yao Chi,' with its cliff carvings, grotto Guanyin, Moon Well, and other famous historical sites. In addition, the 'Jin Qiao Temple,' inscribed by the calligrapher Zhao Puchu, has now also become an important Buddhist cultural attraction on the southern Sichuan tourist route.
