A Day Trip to Montpellier
Spent my day without school on a quick trip to Montpellier. We went there via bus for just 11 euros.
We visited the tourist spots around the city, but was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. I thought there would be more to see, or perhaps was it because it was inter?
Overall, still had fun and ate amazing food with great company.
Does anyone have some recommendations on things to do in Montpellier?#southoffrance #Montpellier

Eternal Triumph: A Tale of the Arc de Triomph
#winhkflight
In the heart of Paris, where the Champs-Élysées stretches like a ribbon of gold through the city, stands a timeless symbol of triumph and resilience – the Arc de Triomphe. As I gazed up at its towering form, I felt a sense of awe wash over me, knowing that I stood in the presence of one of the world's most iconic landmarks.
The Arc de Triomphe has stood watch over the city of Paris for over two centuries, bearing witness to moments of triumph and tragedy, war and peace. Its grandeur and elegance are a testament to the vision of those who built it and the spirit of the French people who have rallied around it in times of struggle.
As I approached the base of the monument, I marveled at the intricate carvings and elaborate sculptures that adorned its facade. Each detail told a story – of battles won and lost, of heroes honored and sacrifices made. It was a reminder of the indomitable spirit of the human soul and the power of perseverance in the face of adversity.
I climbed the spiral staircase that wound its way to the top of the monument, eager to take in the panoramic view of the city below. From this vantage point, Paris spread out before me like a patchwork quilt, its iconic landmarks and bustling streets bathed in the golden light of the setting sun.
As I stood atop the Arc de Triomphe, I felt a sense of connection to the countless souls who had come before me – soldiers and statesmen, artists and revolutionaries – all drawn to this sacred place in search of inspiration and meaning. It was a humbling reminder of the enduring power of human endeavor and the eternal quest for greatness.
As the sun dipped below the horizon and the city below came alive with the twinkling lights of evening, I lingered a while longer atop the Arc de Triomphe, savoring the moment and etching the memory into my heart. For in that fleeting instant, I felt as though I had touched eternity – and found it to be beautiful.

Montpellier Triumphal Arch, also known as Perou Gate, is located at the eastern end of Perou Garden near the city center. The reliefs on the arch display the four major events during the reign of Louis XIV. The surrounding park area is also conveniently located in the city center, next to the metro station.
Next to the Peiru Garden, there is a tall commemorative building. Two rows of trees stand neatly on both sides of the avenue. On the other side of the park, located on a high ground, you can see half of the city from here. On the other side of the monument, there is also an abandoned waterway. Under the stone building are beautiful arch bridges one after another. Occasionally, some small markets are held here, and local vendors sell some small trinkets. Both the park and the Arc de Triomphe are free to visit, just make sure to check the opening and closing times in advance. The Arc de Triomphe in Montpellier is much smaller than the one in Paris. The underground is a road paved with ancient bricks, and cars can drive in the middle. Unlike the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, it is not possible to make an appointment to enter the interior of the Arc de Triomphe in Montpellier. As a landmark building, it also attracts a large number of tourists. The Peiru Garden and the Arc de Triomphe are located in the city center and are not far from the art museum and botanical garden.

A MUST SEE during a first trip to Paris! Be sure to use the underground walkway to walk aroundthe monument. Don't try to cross the insane traffic circling the Arch!!! Great to see, got our picture, it is one of those must see if you are there. We didnt go to the top as there was a queue, but it is just as impressive a monument from the ground. It's location at the top of the Champs Elysee makes a visit all the more worthwhile.

A key symbol of French identity, the Arc de Triomphe is one of the world’s most massive arch. It was commissioned back in 1806 to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic wars. Its significance is marked by important events such as the Bastille Day military parade and Tour de France race every year.
