Tokyo Hydrangeas at Kyu-Nakagawa Park | A Hidden Gem for Checking In
A Hidden Gem for Checking In, Kyu-Nakagawa Park. Summer in Tokyo is an ocean of hydrangeas. The streets and alleys are filled with colorful hydrangeas, also known as hortensias in some countries.
There are many popular spots for hydrangea viewing in Tokyo, but they are usually crowded with tourists from all over the world.
Today, I recommend a lesser-known spot frequented only by locals—Kyu-Nakagawa Riverside Park in Tokyo.
This is a quiet residential area away from the tourist spots. The riverside is filled with blooming hortensias, and the backdrop is the Skytree, which is simply stunning.

The best free spot to view beautiful hydrangeas in Tokyo is actually here!
Because of work, I only stayed in Tokyo for a short thirty-some hours and didn't have time to go to Kamakura to take pictures of hydrangeas. I found a free spot in Tokyo to enjoy the hydrangeas online, and it was even more stunning in person!

⭕ The densely blooming hydrangeas line both banks of the river, and they come in a variety of colors. With the hydrangeas in the foreground, you can take layered photos that include Tokyo's Skytree and passing trains.
⭕ It is recommended to come around six o'clock (Tokyo's sunset time is around seven o'clock in the summer), when the light is softer, and you can also wait until after the sun sets to take pictures of the illuminated Skytree. ) There are not many visitors, so it's easy to get a shot without people in it.
⭕ The photo was taken on 6.13, and it is currently the peak bloom season, so if you want to take pictures, do it soon!

Tokyo's Kawazu Sakura Scenic Spot, Old Nakagawa Kawazu Sakura, with a view of the Skytree!
Among the early cherry blossom spots in Tokyo that are worth visiting, there is the 'Old Nakagawa Kawazu Sakura'. Along the riverbank, there is a row of Kawazu cherry trees, and the best viewing period is usually at the end of February. The riverbanks are filled with Kawazu cherry blossoms, and whether you are under the cherry trees or by the riverbank, it's all pink.
The weather was very good on this day, and in addition to the Skytree, I also saw many birds (laughs). Since the location is close to Asakusa, it can be planned on the same day.
