Day trip to Mostar
#2023travelwish
My trip to Mostar, one of the city of Bosnia and Herzegovina is an unplanned day trip from Dubrovnik. Was told that the main attraction of Mostar, is the Stari Most – the Old Bridge.
The Old Bridge was originally constructed during the Ottoman period. The Old Bridge replaced the wooden suspension bridge that had previously existed on site.
Another Surprise sight is a statue of Bruce Lee which I come across while exploring. Also worth exploring is the bazaar on the either side of the street which I can try some local food . It was indeed as unforgettable trip . Day trip is definitely too short will hope I will be able to visit her for a free days next time
Mostar: Most and Mosque
Used Trip.com to find a trip from 🇨🇿 to 🇧🇦 for less than €10! I flew into Tuzla, stayed in Sarajevo and took a day trip to Mostar (pictured). Although the public transportation was less documented in terms of timetables, I had no trouble at all getting around by bus and train. What a beautiful country of both people and landscape- I will certainly be returning!
Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and Old Bridge, Stari Most, after which it is named. In the 1990s conflict,

🇧🇦 View point in Mostar : Fortica ⛰️
Attraction: Fortica
Location: Mostar 88000, Bosnia
Directions: Hiking, Take taxi or join a tour
Opening Hours : 10am - 10pm
Fortica is one of the best place to visit in Mostar. It is on top of the mountain and you can overlook the whole city! The view is spectacular at all time no matter it’s day time or sunset. There is a small restaurant where you can have a drink. There is also a zip line that you can try out. There is also a huge Bosnian Flag!
The best part of Fortica is the sky walk. There is a sky walk where you can have a walk and take amazing pictures. My tip is it can be very windy up there so wear appropriate clothing. Make sure you do not miss out this place when visiting Mostar.

Mostar - a city that welcome most tourist in entire Bosnia & Herzegovina. Truly magnificent ancient town. Mostar earned world heritage site since early 2000 and every year attracts thousands and thousands of tourist world wide.
The iconic bridge is just truly awesome. Left side of the bridge is Christianity whereas left side of the bridge belongs to Muslim community and best part of this is that since Mostar established, there were zero conflicts fight, war in between this 2 religious group in last 2000 years.
Highly recommended city to whoever that travel to Bosnia or to Dubrovnik, Split Croatia…just a day trip to Mostar and you will never regret.
#summerfest Mostar is a city in the south of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located in a picturesque mountainous area on the Neretva River. It is the fifth largest city in the country and the historical capital of Herzegovina. The main attraction of Mostar is the ancient Ottoman bridge, built in the 16th century and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, thanks to which the city got its name.
To everyone, Amway, a beautiful and small destination, Bosnia and Herzegovina, an ancient city in China that is free of visas to China, called Mostar Mostar, is really beautiful, this world cultural heritage Mostar ancient bridge It is a 16th-century bridge that spans the Neretva River. After the completion of the bridge, it became the world's widest artificially constructed arch bridge.
Some related technical issues are still a mystery: how to set up scaffolding; how to transport stones from one side of the river to the other; how to keep scaffolding reliable during such a long construction period. Therefore, this bridge can be included in the greatest work of the time [tact]
The full name of Bosnia and Herzegovina is Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mostar is the largest and most prestigious city in the region of Herzegovina.
This old bridge and the ancient city scene, you can almost see in all the tourism propaganda in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The old bridge was built in 1566 in the Ottoman period and is now almost a symbol of the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jumping from the top of the bridge of more than 20 meters into the cold and rushing river is a traditional challenge for local brave people. If you are lucky, you may be able to witness this feat! (Dangerous projects, do not imitate)
and the old town on the bridge is one of the best preserved ancient cities in the entire Balkan region. In 2005, the Old Town and the Old Bridge were selected together in the United Nations World Heritage list.
There are also buildings, museums, and parks that commemorate the lost people. Remember the war and history.
Mostar is a destination that every traveler to Bosnia and Herzegovina will not miss.
The feeling of the old city is very similar to Lijiang, the cobbled streets, the shops on both sides are row upon row, the tourists are endless, and the commercial atmosphere is very strong. But despite this, Mostar will make people feel worthwhile, probably because there is a ancient bridge that is listed as a World Heritage. The
ancient bridge was built in the 16th century and was destroyed in the war in 1993. It was successfully rebuilt in 2004 using the same materials and techniques.
The ancient bridge divides the old city into two, so people come and go all day on the bridge. There are also diving people on the old bridge. When you fill in the number of euros, you will perform once. When you enter the water, you will make a loud noise. It is said that jumping from the high old bridge is the act of young people in Mostar to prove their courage. From 1968, there will be a formal diving competition every summer. Continued to the present, it has become a means of earning money for tourists. The distance from the bridge to the water is very high. People who dare to jump will need a lot of courage and superb diving skills, so people will applaud the divers.
There are many beautifully furnished restaurants by the river. Sitting down for a cup of coffee, or eating a meal, watching the green river flowing like jade slowly flows, which is a very enjoyable thing in itself.
Mostar is the cultural capital of Herzegovina.
Once the glorious city was baptized by war, it developed slowly after a few years. This is a city that is deep in Europe but has a strong Islamic flavor.
We left the country from Dubrovnik and moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina before arriving at Mostar.
Mostar is very different from European cities, and there are many towering mosques in the small town. Built in 1557, the Karadozbegova Mosque is the most important and sacred Islamic building in the region. Its designer Mimar Sinan was the chief architect of the Ottoman Empire. The mosque is also one of the best places to admire the Old Bridge and the Neretva River.
The Biscevica House on the eastern bank of the Neretva River is a complete preserve of 17th-century Turkish-style homes. The tall stone pillars support the white-walled brown tile house, and the soft wool carpet highlights the identity of the former owner.
This is a beautiful small town with a simple folk style, almost my favorite city in the Balkans.
