Royal Albert Docks, Liverpool
The Royal Albert Docks originally opened in 1846 and served the north of England with boats shipping goods to various places. Situated in Liverpool city centre, it consists of modernised bars, restaurants and museums.
There is quite a lot to see and do there and admission into the area is free. Lots of the bars and restaurants have some great views of the dockyards and the river Mersey and there is information about how the dockyards have been transformed into the area that it is today. The attraction is free to enter and there is free wifi throughout.
I would recommend going to visit one of the museums whilst you are there as well as visiting one of the restaurants, such as the Pump House.

The Royal Albert Dock used to be a complex of Dock buildings and warehouses in Liverpool. It is now home to museums, galleries, restaurants, bars and shops. We really loved this place in Liverpool. It was the place that made us fall in love with Liverpool. We only planned for a short visit here but ended up spending the entire afternoon walking around and stopping for afternoon tea. There’s lots to see and do for all ages. From ferry rides, to riding the Ferris wheel, free museum, souvenir shopping and plenty of eating spots. We happened to be there on a Sunday and there were many couples, families, students and group of friends just enjoying the wonderful weather and atmosphere of the place. The area is very walkable and stroller friendly with public toilets all around. Do plan an entire afternoon here just having a relaxing stroll and a drink or some ice cream. It’s a must see place in Liverpool for sure!

Tea Time in Liverpool
While in Liverpool for a day trip, we visited the Royal Albert Dock. It is one of the must visit places in Liverpool that is full of history and culture. We spent a whole morning there, walking and exploring the area. Along the Tate Museum is where you can find many cafes and restaurants with fantastic views. We settled for Porters which is a typical English cafe serving up some of the most delicious scones we’ve ever had. We ordered a cappuccino each and a fruit scone to share. The scone was rich and buttery and went superbly well with the clotted cream and jam. Coffee was equally yummy as well. Overall it was a fantastic afternoon spent here with a great place to rest our tired feet.
