Thousand Island Lake Scenic Area, as the oldest resort in Zhejiang, has many different ways to play, and tourists of all ages and travel purposes can find suitable ways to play here. Around the lake, there are multiple activities to get involved in such as kayaking and cycling which is easy to source. We stayed in a lodge close to the lake which was modern with nice views. Spend a weekend in Qiandao- city of Islands.

Getting There- Fast train or private car. Attractions - The absolutely beautiful view from the top of Tianmu mountain 🏔 . The views of the islands was so beautiful 😍 . The city was very peaceful and great to be at for a weekend trip. The hot air balloon experience 👌. Hotels - There is a variety of high end hotels. Food & Restaurants - The city does not have that much with regards to western restaurants but the Chinese restaurants also serve really good local meals😋. The hotels also provide buffets as options. Qiandao was a really beautiful small city just outside of Hangzhou😊. It is mostly surrounded by little islands and beautiful views of the lake water🏝. If you feeling adventurous, there is some water sport activities that you can try out or if you are the avid hiker, you can use that opportunity to go up Tianmu ⛰ . The hike up the mountain 🏔 on a hot day was a really tough but enjoyable experience. The hot air balloon experience was a great one as the views again really were beautiful 😍. After the hot air balloon experience, we tried out some quad biking. Lake, reservoir or tourist attraction?

If you’ve been in China, you probably bought that bottle of water with a red cap available pretty much everywhere! But I bet you never wondered about its source right!? Well, Thousand Island Lake, 千岛湖 is the source of the Nongfu Spring Water! Apparently, the lake also supplies water to neighbouring cities like Hangzhou. It owes its birth to a failed reservoir project that resulted into a big lake with sprawling islands. Consequently, tourism was developed and led to the growing presence of hotels and water activities around the lake. Boats cruising the lake offer visits to two or three islands. We chose to take the speed boats as they are available at any time and also take you to three islands. The tour costs 295¥ per person. There’s a cheaper option, but it’s only available on scheduled hours. To have a view of the islands, the view point at the top is accessible by cable car or by walk. As it was hot and humid, we chose the comfort of sitting in a cable car at an extra cost of 50¥ per person. We were told that walking all the way up takes about 30 mins. There’s also a small shop for snacks and refreshments. Nothing to boast about for the second island which felt rather plain. We walked around for a waterfall and a fish pond. On the Monkey island, you can buy fruits in a bowl to feed the monkeys. How to go - 🚗 A local friend drove us there. It was about a two hour drive away from Hangzhou. Thousand Happy Memories

Qiandao Lake is an amazing weekend adventure suitable for couples or families. While we were there we did a bunch of activities from kayaking to swimming and they even have hot air balloon rides. But we weren’t brave enough to rent one out. ⛴ The lake is quite big with small little islands and enclaves scattered arriving. making it look more like the coast of Bali than a lake inside China. The hotel we stayed at had a infinity pool overlooking the lake to get best of both worlds. the view of the lake and the comfort of a heated swimming pool 😊 All in all, I would definitely reccomend this lake and the beaches around it for a stroll and a picnic. City of lakes

When I first heard the name of the city, I didn't realize that they actually mean it. Thousand island lakes (千岛湖) is a manmade waterways that had split the city into thousand islands 🏝️ (although I didn't individually count though 😜). Our first day, was almost washed out because of heavy rain while on second day mother Nature was mercy on us and we biked our way to this hiking 🥾 point. It is actually an observatory on the top of the mountain from where you can see the lake & mountains. Sunset 🌄 is the best time to be there. It took nearly an hour to reach to the top, there are some shops on the way too where you can buy stuffs. The difficulty is easy and anyone can do this !! Meifeng Island is the highest island in Qiandao Lake. There is a sightseeing platform on the top of the mountain. It is the best viewing place in Qiandao Lake. The tickets for Qiandao Lake have been photographed here, so this is also a place where tourists must punch cards. You can choose to take the cable car or climb on the top of the mountain. On foot, it takes about 15-20 minutes, so most of them choose to go up the mountain. It feels good to stand on the top of the mountain. The last time I stood here, I took a lot of photos. This time I took the drone. You can fly higher to bird's eye view of the entire island of Thousand Island Lake. The islands of big and small are very beautiful on the water, and they can't help but sigh the wonders of nature. The waters of Qiandao Lake are clear and green. Nowadays, the water quality of the scenic spots in many places is very poor. It is rare to have such clean water, and it is still such a large lake area. There is a wonderful stage performance on the Snake Island with a cafeteria. All tourists should be settled here for lunch. Lunch is self-help, with 35 yuan and 55 yuan. The performance of Snake Island did not come to see for the first time. This time I went to look at it. It was roughly some water performances, acrobatic performances and some song and dance performances from Thailand. The performance is circular, and you can go out and play other games when you see repeated performances. Longshan Island is not far from the cruise ship terminal. The island is large in size, but there are not many places for tourists to watch. The island's pier can be seen with a clean "Lian" character. This island is about the Ming Dynasty Qingguan Hairui.

The Splendid Qiandao Lake (Chun'an)

Departing from Huangshan, taking the Shendu Port in Shexian County, we arrived at Meifeng Island at 12 o'clock. There's no need to take the cable car as it's a quick ascent; a brisk ten-minute walk will do. The view from the observation deck is quite impressive, of course, provided that the weather is cooperative. After an hour of photography, a half-hour boat ride took us to Moonlight Island, which was rather dull, filled with a bunch of keys, locks... and what seems to be a wedding photography base. The final attraction, the Scholar's Bridge, is just a suspension bridge. The total playtime on the islands is about an hour, and then the return trip to Huangshan takes over seven hours. The actual time spent on the islands is two hours; there's not much to do, really... The remaining nearly ten hours are spent on boats and buses.
