Wulanhada Volcano Geopark Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
🌋 Volcano Geopark in INNER MONGOLIA
Covering an area of about 65km, these amazing volcanoes can be found during your trip to Inner Mongolia. Visiting the Wulanhada Geopark is completely free and you can choose to walk around the volcanoes or drive to several of them throughout the day (recommended).
More than 30 volcanoes here are distributed like a string of beads on the grassland, and the flat terrain shows off the shape of the volcanoes perfectly. Because of its unique volcanic geology and landform, this unique "volcanic grassland", is known as the "natural volcano museum", and definitely worth a visit.
But out of the 30, there are 8 main volcanoes to see and climb. are arranged from northeast to southwest respectively, with a total distance of about 10 kilometers. The big ones are Volcano No.3️⃣ to Volcano No.8️⃣. The No.3 Volcano is half mined, and the whole volcano shows a huge gap, with a plank road to the volcano top; The No.4 Volcano was thoroughly excavated and a volcano museum was built on the original site; The No.5 Volcano is the most complete one, with a perfectly preserved central eruption volcanic shape. The slope of the No.6 Volcano was all hollowed out, leaving only a core in the middle. The No.7 and No.8 volcanoes are cone-shaped.
💥BONUS: pretend you’re in Mars!
Yeap, just like my cover picture shows, Chinese had the amazing business idea to set up several trucks that provide astronaut suits 👩🚀 for rental! It costs ¥80 for an hour, but you can haggle the price (I paid 50). You can also have professional photographers take your picture there and they can give you smoke bombs to hold 😂 it’s really quite a hilarious scene, but a fun, unique, and tacky experience that you will only get in China!
📝 Sidenote: don’t let the pictures fool you. The climbs to the top of the volcanoes are *intense*. Somer are very steep on the way up and super slippery on the way down. Definitely a challenge!

The Ulan Hada Volcanic Geological Park covers an area of 65.9 square kilometers and is rich in the fourth volcanic geological site, a well-formed crater, and the north-east and north-west volcanic chains are like a string of pearls scattered on the green grassland. There are also geological relics such as jets, lava flows, and volcanic dams around them.
This is the only region in the southern margin of the Inner Mongolia Plateau that has been found in volcanic eruptions. The eruption scale is large and the eruption methods are diverse. It is a natural "window" for studying the deep structure and activity of the late Quaternary in the southern margin of the Mongolian Plateau. It is also of great significance for revealing the characteristics of neotectonic activity and early warning of volcanic disasters, and has important scientific value and scientific value.
Introduction card from the park
About the volcano:
The most famous is the No. 3 volcano (Northern Alchemy Furnace), and the 4th volcano (black brain pack) is about to be built. At present, only the No. 3 volcano has built a trail to reach the top of the volcano. The No. 5 volcano is steep. Although there is no good trail, we also saw an uncle climbing up in the wind... No. 1-2 volcano has nothing to look at. Head, so I can't find it on the map. The No. 6 volcano has been damaged and is still far away.
Generally speaking, there are No. 3 volcano, No. 5 volcano and No. 6 volcano.
If you can't make it to Mars, come to Ulanqab instead
For these photos, I made a special trip to Ulanqab.
1️⃣ Volcano Crater No.6 is very photogenic
Photos 1-6-7 were taken at Volcano Crater No.6
2️⃣ Volcano Crater No.3 is the most convenient to climb, it's about a 15-minute walk up the footpath with little pressure, but the visual effect is just so-so
Photos 2, 3, and 4 are of Volcano Crater No.3
Photo 5 was taken on the way to Volcano Crater No.6, be careful when parking your car on the roadside
I heard that after May Day private cars will no longer be allowed in, so take photos and cherish the moments

Ulan Hada Volcano|| It's like being on another planet
|| It's like being on another planet.
There are few people visiting Ulanqab in winter, and there are basically only one or two cars on the road
The wind outside the car is very strong and cold, most of the time you can only enjoy the scenery outside the window in the car
Bring a drone, and the beauty of the entire 'planet' is in sight
Under -21℃, you can only persist for a few minutes when you get off the car to take pictures, so you must choose a place with characteristics to check in
📷tips:
1⃣️S-shaped bends and uphill and downhill roads on the 6th fire road
2⃣️The 6th volcano is a black waist drum. The snow on the top of the mountain is particularly like a piece of chocolate cake. You can rent a spacesuit at the foot of the mountain, and there is a red heart halfway up the mountain
3⃣️The 3rd fire is relatively far away, there is a space warehouse, a red telephone booth and a large bouquet of flowers at the foot of the mountain
(Be sure to use mobile live shooting, so you can capture the shape of the wind)

Ulanqab Homestay Recommendation | The Mountain Retreat is really nice
| The Mountain Retreat is really nice.
This time we booked the Mountain Retreat for our trip to the Volcano Park
The location is great, just a 5-6 minute drive to Volcano No. 3. As soon as we entered the homestay, it felt fresh and quaint
Check-in is supposed to be at 2 PM, but the enthusiastic owner let us check in early after cleaning the room ☺️
Our group of four booked the Gantang Residence, which includes two large beds and breakfast for four, all for an average of 200+ per person, which is a great deal
It was peak season when we went, so make sure to book in advance
The rooms are very clean, one of the best among the nearby homestays. The homestay 🈶 a restaurant that serves three meals a day, with an average cost of 100💰🉑 for a satisfying meal. In the evening, there's also barbecue 🍢 available, enjoying skewers while stargazing ✨ is a unique experience~
We tried the hand-grabbed meat, stir-fried green onion with eggs, and oat noodles, all of which tasted good
🈶 Many other homestay guests come over for barbecue in the evening
🈶 There's a terrace where you can photograph the starry sky🌃 and also get a view of Volcano No. 3🌋
One of the advantages of staying in a homestay over camping might be that you can take a hot shower after a day of fun 🛁

Fireworks and Bonfire Delight.
As night falls, the courtyard of the guesthouse is enveloped in a warm glow. The blazing bonfire, with its golden flames dancing, seems to be telling passionate stories. Sparks occasionally fly up, flashing briefly and brilliantly in the darkness.
People gather around the bonfire, their faces illuminated by the red glow, their smiles exceptionally bright. They talk softly, and laughter echoes in the night sky.
Suddenly, a sharp sound pierces the night sky, followed by colorful fireworks blooming in the sky. Red, green, purple, yellow... each brilliant firework blooms like a dream, decorating the entire night sky like a poetic painting. The light of the fireworks illuminates everyone's faces, and they look up at the sky, eyes filled with surprise and enchantment.
As the fireworks continue to bloom, the warmth of the bonfire and the brilliance of the fireworks intertwine, creating an incredibly romantic and joyful atmosphere. In this small world of the guesthouse, it seems as if time has stopped for this wonderful scene, allowing people to immerse themselves and savor this unique and unforgettable moment.
🌟Highlights: Cozy, Romantic, Warm, Vast!
👍Highly Recommended: Warm as Home!

Pretending to be in Iceland - Inner Mongolia Chahar volcano
The volcano here is extremely Icelandic! In fact, it is the Chahar volcano in Ulan Qab, Inner Mongolia. Ideal for self-driving tour~
Ulanhada volcanic group is located on the Taikoo Wulashan Group and the Neogene Hannuoba basalt, covering an area of about 280 square kilometers. It is the only Holocene discovered in the southern margin of the Mongolian Plateau. Volcanic area. The
