Food at Therme
#bucketlistreboot
My absolutely favourite is the Lebanese chicken with rice, served with salad and tzatziki-like spread. The first time I tried this chicken, I had it for lunch and for dinner. Yes! This is how good it is. I like my ice coffee and frappuccino in the morning and then go for Pina Coladas. Paul tends to go for the Carpathian burger (served with traditional Romanian vegetable spread) or any other burger on the menu. His favourite cocktail is Margarita and the bar staff at The Palm are pretty good at preparing this cocktail. In terms of desserts, we always treat ourselves to something sweet and everything we have tried has been exceptional. No favourites on the dessert front, everything is yummy.

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Therme Bucharest - spa, wellness & relaxation
Have you ever thought of Bucharest, Romania as a spa and wellness destination? If not, then add Therme Bucharest to your bucket list.
Therme Bucharest, one of the biggest wellness, relaxation and entertainment centres in Europe, has an indoor temperature of 30°C/86°F and a water temperature of 33°C/91°F, every month of the year.
The thermal water makes its way from deep underground to supply 10 pools, 6 saunas, 4 wet saunas and 16 water slides.
There are also 1500 palm trees from four continents, making Therme the largest palm plantation in Europe. The first time we visited this place, we noticed the tropical landscape created by the palm trees, which we immediately associated with an exotic holiday.
Therme Bucharest opened to the public in 2016 and we have been visiting this amazing place at least once a year since then.

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Therme Bucuresti in Bucharest
I had a few hours to kill before getting to the Bucharest airport so decided to go to the therme Bucuresti . I was positively impressed. We had a massive heated pool inside and tens of different saunas. Wide selection of food and drinks inside too. There was a children’s section as well. Perfect place to chill and relax. Only downside I would say is the price of food and drinks inside you can easily end up spending around 50£ in the entire day.
Book it, you won’t regret
Therme in Bucharest is the best spa I have ever been to. Book it you won’t regret it. Good food, massages, lots of sauna’s, jacuzzi, outdoor pools! Amazing

Bran Castle Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
The Legend of Dracula and the Bran Castle
Bran Castle is a must-visit tourist destination in Romania due to its mysterious connection with the legendary Dracula.
Located in Transylvania, the castle was initially built to protect the surrounding region against invaders.
However, its association with the fictional character Dracula has made it a popular tourist spot. Although Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for Dracula, never lived in the castle, it still has an eerie vibe with its Gothic architecture, dark hallways, and medieval atmosphere.
The castle now houses a museum showcasing the history of the region, including the life of Vlad the Impaler.
A visit to Bran Castle is a fascinating experience for anyone interested in Gothic architecture, medieval history, and vampire lore.
Visit Dracula’s castle in Romania
What better place to be at in the spirit of Halloween than to visit Bran’s Castle, also known as Dracula’s castle in Transylvania, Romania?
The name came about as the author of the horror novel Dracula, Bram Stoker, set this castle as Count Dracula’s residence in the story. The interesting thing is that he never actually visited this castle but the castle came from his own imagination based on the picture of Bran Castle that he had seen.
While the name itself may sound intimidating, it is actually not that scary in real life. In fact, the castle itself was occupied by a royal family, before being acquired as a private museum for both locals and tourists alike.
This castle is actually very popular, and it was crowded when I was there. The souvenir shops outside the castle are selling Halloween themed souvenirs that look more intimidating such as shirts with black cat motifs.

Castle Bran in Romania is outside of Bucharest and has a very interesting history. You can hire a guide, but it is small enough that most people tour on their own. It has amazing carved furniture a spectacular views. The cost is reasonable for a ticket to enter. #merrychristmas

Not too far from Bucharest is Castle Bran, a real castle! The furnishings and setting take you back in time. The carved wood furnishings and handpainted ceilings are breathtaking, the scenery even more so. Worth the trip. #givethanks #realcastle #familytravel #romania #castlebran

5 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT ROMANIA🇷🇴😍
5 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT ROMANIA🇷🇴😍
Romania is probably not on everybody‘s bucket list but it should be 😁 There are so many unique places to explore and in today’s post I will share our favorites with you ❤️
🗺️ Places to visit / Things to do:
1.Corvin Castle 🏰 This one looks so unique!
2.-4. Transfagarasan 💚 After driving up a zig zag road you’ll have the most amazing view over green hills and crystal clear lakes ⛰️
5.Peles Castle ❤️Another very unique castle with a beautiful park 🌳
6.Bran Castle 🧛♂️ This is the home of Count Dracula 🩸 🏰
7-9. Sibiu ❤️ This city could be located in Germany and it‘s so much fun to walk around the cute streets.
🚗 How to get around
The easiest way is to take a car because many places can‘t be accessed by public transport.
⏰ Best time to visit
From spring to autumn is probably the most convenient time! We were in Romania in summer and the weather was perfect ☀️
🏨 Where to stay
Hotels are very affordable but you need to search a bit to find dog friendly ones (just activate the „pets allowed“ filter on your preferred booking website / app) 🛏️
🐶 Is Romania dog friendly?
It depends. We had no issues to bring Felix to the sights but restaurants don‘t allow dogs so better be prepared for that. Whenever we visit countries where street animals are, we often get messages like „Aren‘t you afraid they will attack Felix?“ but you don‘t need to be scared! Felix made many street doggy friends over the years and they are usually very submissive and just curious. Sharing a meal with them helps a lot 🍖 Make sure your dog‘s vaccinations are updated to protect him from diseases these animals might have and bring something against fleas.
We hope this guide was helpful and makes it easier for you to plan your trip! Is Romania on your bucket list? 😍🇷🇴 #travelguide #bucketlist #traveltips #bestof #romania #europe

A monumental historic building
The Palace of Parliament is right in the center of the city. Being so historic and monumental, it's not only an icon but a testament to the somewhat dark but important past of the country.
You can visit the interior of the building but book a tour beforehand. The inside of the building is very grand is built of marble. It's surprisingly well kept and shows the whole discrepancy between those at the top and the every day person. Even from the outside it's a beautiful and grand monument that's a beautiful, intriguing and controversial attraction.
