Day trip to Warwick
#celebratewithtrip #unitedkingdom #warwick #staycations
We liked Warwick more than we thought we would and really enjoyed a day trip to this town.
It has ancient origins and an array of historic buildings, notably from the Medieval, Stuart and Georgian eras. It was a major fortified settlement from the early Middle Ages, the most notable relic of this period being Warwick Castle, a major tourist attraction.
We have shared a lot of information about Warwick Castle, just check our previous posts.

Warwick castle is much bigger than we thought and we did spend a whole day at the castle grounds.
If you plan a trip, account for at least 6 hours to make the most of your visit. You can walk on the walls, visit the state rooms and the Great Hall, walk in the park and explore the Peacock Gardens.
Obviously you will need some time to eat as well. You can bring your own food or just buy something from the Castle grounds.

Checkinaway (@checkinawayblog) Wandering around Warwick Castle
#celebratewithtrip #unitedkingdom #castle #tripblazers #fallingforfall
We did a day trip to Warwick and Warwick Castle but barely got to see the city as the Castle was much bigger than we through and there were a lot of things to do.
Most castles in England you can see within a couple of hours, but Warwick Castle takes the whole day and then some to explore, so it's a fantastic day out and well worth the money! There's so much to do you will be spoiled for choice.

Little Britain - Stratford Upon Avon
The UK can be so quaint! Small little villages and towns dotted around with lush forests and meadows in between. In total contrast to London and other metropolis areas in the UK, Stratford Upon Avon epitomises old English culture.
🏡 This tiny market town was know as the birth place of William Shakespeare and some of the attractions include his house and a theatre dedicated to him.
⛪️ Old timey Buildings are scattered all over the place and have been very well preserved. local taverns pubs and new restaurants are what keeps this town alive now and it’s a great weekend getaway from the big city.
🍖 This town has a fair bit to offer in terms of food. Classic British food is served at local restaurants and you can get a good meal at one of the pubs as well.
🚶♂️Definitely check out the walking street in the Center of the city. There you will find William Shakespeare birth house, souvenir shops, and candy shops.
All in all, very quaint little town with a handful things to do. Half a day to explore and eat would be enough. we also found a silly little medieval museum that shows what life was like in the medieval period.
Check it out 😊

1. Shakespeare's Birthplace
Stratford-upon-Avon, a town on the banks of the River Avon, 180 kilometers west of London, is the birthplace and death place of the playwright Shakespeare. Walking into this old house, you see furniture arranged exactly as it was during Shakespeare's life, with beautifully painted walls. Shakespeare was born upstairs here, and he spent his childhood and adolescence in this place. The house displays Shakespeare's handwriting, coins of the time, and IOUs from friends who borrowed money from Shakespeare, among other items.
2. Victoria Square
Victoria Square is the heart of Birmingham city center, not very large and easy to find. The Town Hall, City Council, a statue of Queen Victoria, and the Iron Man sculpture are all buildings surrounding Victoria Square, and the famous Bather's Fountain in the center of the square is a very conspicuous landmark.
3. Warwick Castle
Warwick Castle is a medieval-style castle located in Warwick, the county town of Warwickshire, England. Situated on the edge of a cliff, it overlooks a bend in the River Avon. Warwick Castle was built by William the Conqueror in 1068, originally as a fortress, until Sir Fulke Greville converted it into a country house in the early 17th century.

The Opposition Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
❣️🌸The Opposition, Stratford upon Avon
#cherryblossom2024
Address: 13 Sheep St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6EF, United Kingdom
Opening hours: Different opening hours everyday, check before you come
We are here at The Opposition and it was recommended by the hotel reception. It is a European bistro located at the theater and most musical ticket holders will have their pre-theatre meals here. This is at Stratford upon Avon which is also William Shakespear’s birthplace. Top quality ad excellent menu at The Opposition and we had their three course set meal. The food portion is just right and not too much otherwise you will feel bloated when you enter the theatre for your musical. Almost all the resturants here are guide dog friendly and you can spot many guide dogs around here too.
