We had a very comfortable stay at Hotel Metropolitan Nagano. The location is excellent, as it is directly connected to Nagano Station, which made traveling around the area very convenient. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and the bed was very comfortable.
The staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay, and check-in was smooth. There are also many restaurants and shops nearby, which made it easy to find food and explore the area. Overall, it was a great place to stay in Nagano and we would definitely consider staying here again.
Bed is rather small for 2. Room space hard to move about but we managed since it is for a night stay. Like the cleanliness and amenities provided. Location to the main Nagano station helps! Live up to its hotel's name as staff were very welcoming and they smiled 😀
Good location, train station is just opposite.
Nearby also have many F&B.
Cleanliness is good.
Room is not very spacious, it makes me think of Shinjuku Washington Hotel size.
But service is very good, more friendly, and they help us to move the luggage up to our room straight after our bag hv transfer via luggage transfer service.
So when we reach hotel, we just need to check in and go up straight.
There's washing machine and dryer provided with fee, however is a small one.
The lobby is very nice and comfortable.
Will consider to stay here again if I visiting Nagano.
This is our first time to ski Japan. This hotel was located perfectly with great access to some super beginning facilities. Good enough about skiing, the hotel is perfect and the staff is amazing. The food and amenities are excellent. We had a private hot spring every evening really added to the enjoyment. My wife and I and eight year-old daughter had a great time you so much for the great experience and all the hospitality Perfect Stay. 100%!!!
This hotel is a must stay in Nagano. For us the best hotel that we stayed in our Japan trip. The room is very spacious comparatively to Japanese hotel rooms and it’s located just 5-8 minutes from the Nagano station. Breakfast is superb with a nice mountain views. They have a great amenities set. Will definitely stat again if we are coming back to NagNo.
The hotel is a ten-minute walk from Nagano Station. The room is small but well-equipped and very clean. There are also FamilyMart, Lawson, and drugstores nearby. The hotel's own cleansing oil is excellent… I highly recommend Misoya ramen, a ramen shop right in front of Nagano Station. The flavor is fantastic! The thick bean sprouts and spicy miso are delicious and not too salty.
Traveling with two others, we booked the West Wing for its convenient location. It's a cabin in the woods, and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up in the forest, with few people around and fresh air, felt like having the whole beautiful landscape to ourselves – truly amazing!
However, the bathroom facilities are quite old, and showering wasn't very convenient. If you're visiting in winter, definitely book a room with air conditioning; just having heating might not be enough, as it could still get cold.
For getting around, the hotel offers a shuttle bus with three routes: one to the outlet mall, one that goes back and forth between the cabins and the main hotel building, and another route that I haven't tried yet (haha). If you're unsure about anything, you can always ask the front desk. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Karuizawa!
Thank you for the thoughtful service. The hotel is a bit far from Nagano Station, so I used the shuttle bus. The driver was also very polite and made the ride pleasant. If I have the chance to visit Nagano again, I'd like to stay here. *A special thank you to all the staff at the breakfast buffet.
A good hotel close to Nagano Station, though it's still about a 10-minute walk. They offer a buffet breakfast and even room cleaning (despite what was stated during booking about no cleaning for stays under 3 nights). Essential amenities are provided, including a hairdryer, kettle, mugs, toothbrushes, and so on.
Downside #1: It gets cold inside during winter, so you have to turn on the air conditioning for heating.
Downside #2: The outlets don't charge European laptops, even with an adapter.
Downside #3: The Wi-Fi periodically disconnected.
One of the bigger hotel rooms I have stayed in Japan so far. Free welcome cake and drink, free unlimited ice cream during your stay and a small treat when checking out. They also have the most variety of tea available for you to enjoy during your stay.
The hotel is also quite close to the Nagano station. You can see the hotel building when you exit the East exit.

Great
I am a solo traveler who stayed in the room with private open bath. I enjoyed my 2 nights stay. Hotel looks tired and old but it was all good . Btw, you have to use a key to open the door not access card. I paid for my room with breakfast and dinner. I have a private dining space in a restaurant which I like it. Skip all queue and I dine at the same place for all meals. Dinner was great. Breakfast spread was wonderful too. I tried the one hour jap massage and it was so good. There isn’t anyone who can really speak English. The guests are mainly locals. There is free shuttle to check in and check out. Overall I give 9/10!!

The hotel is really clean and quite spacious. The Airconditioning is centralized and we were there during winter so it’s on heater mode. The location is probably around 8-10min walk to Nagano station. They have coin laundry in the first floor. They have 2 pillows per bed, one firm and one soft.
The staff could speak English very well and patient to help us with the private onsen bookings. There was also a shuttle bus from Yudanaka station to the hotel. Hotel was located just opposite the photo spot which resembles the one in Spirited Away. Onsen eggs for sale at 100 yen are just outside the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious too. Love the private onsen too!
The hotel located in good location, with walking distance to the city center area where you can find shops, restaurants, or even Matsumoto Castle. Parking lot provided with fees but it’s quite convenient. The most favorite from this hotel is there’re plenty of amenities – shampoo, conditioner, shower gel from a lot of brands that you can select by yourself at the lobby.
Thank you very much for your hospitality this time. Although I checked in late, I was very satisfied with breakfast the next day, as well as the hotel cafe and sightseeing. I had a wonderful time at Mampei Hotel, a place I'd always wanted to stay at. The room was, of course, meticulously cleaned, and the staff were all polite and professional, as you'd expect. This is a hotel I'd like to return to every year, and would also like to recommend to my friends. All the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
The house is near Omachi Station and a half-hour drive from the cherry blossom-viewing village of Ogawa-go. The host was very welcoming, introducing us to his extensive collection of furniture and sculptures from China upon entering. The house has a library, a dining room, a small shop, a hot spring pool, and the hallways are decorated with meticulously curated paintings of historical architecture. The rooms are clean and have bathrooms. Each room sleeps two, and at just over 600 NTD, it's a great value at just over 300 NTD per person. I'd love to stay here again next time I'm in Nagano!
I had a large tatami room with side sitting area and sink as well as an ante-room. I had three delicious Japanese meals at the ryokan that were served with polite elegance. The two in-house onsen baths were a joy to use after a day of skiing. The staff was knowledgeable about how to get around by the buses and suggested the best restaurants for days that I did not eat at the ryokan. Senshinkan Matsuya was situated in the center of.Shibu Onsen town next to three of the public onsen. I could not ask for a better stay!
