Had a quiet breakfast here. The setting is impressive. Staff were polite, service was quick. The free tea and coffee refills are a nice touch – made it easy to linger over a second cup.

Lovely spot for a quiet catch-up. The lighting is so soft and the booths are super comfy - we ended up staying for hours just chatting. Perfect for a relaxed evening with friends.

Had a decent lunch at the pub downstairs. The atmosphere was pretty cool and relaxed. Staff were friendly, service was fine. A solid spot for something casual.

The bar staff were really friendly and quick, always with a smile. It made a difference on a busy Friday night when we were just grabbing a quick drink. Good service like that is a nice bonus.

Got a last-minute table on a busy Friday, which was a plus. Staff were very friendly and responsive. The lasagne was solid.

The room was spotless and had everything we needed for two people. Plenty of towels, toiletries, and the bed was comfortable. It was a good base for exploring the area.

The whiskey sour was nicely made and reasonably priced. Good value for a quality drink.

Had dinner upstairs, which was a nice change. The haggis was the star for me — really rich and flavourful. Our waiter was lovely, kept checking in without being over the top.

Great spot for lunch. The small plates are a treat, and the staff were spot-on with a wine suggestion that paired beautifully.

No. 9 of Bars in Edinburgh

A decent French spot in Edinburgh. The food had a nice home-cooked feel, and service was pretty good. Found it to be a cozy place for a quiet meal, though the tables are a bit close together.

The candlelight was nice, but honestly, the star was the lamb. Cooked perfectly pink, the rosemary crust had this incredible savoury crunch. The jus was rich without being heavy. That's what I'll remember.

This pub is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys a good drink in a cozy setting. The friendly vibe and great beer selection make it stand out!

Been here a few times. It's got that proper French bistro feel - always busy, a bit loud, but that's what makes it. The rustic look is nice, feels cosy. Good for a relaxed dinner.

The French toast was so good! Simple, but juicy and just the right amount of sweet. It's the kind of dish you want to order again with friends. The vibe here is really relaxed, perfect for a long chat over brunch.

The chicken fajita pasta was tasty, but the real standout was the atmosphere. Love the warm lighting and those big, comfy booths. It's just a really nice space to unwind in.

Saw the deep-fried Mars bar on the menu and had to try it. The portion was generous, one was enough to share. Batter was light and crispy, a fun novelty. Price felt fair for the experience.

The sharing platter was a great way to try a few things. I really noticed the freshness of the vegetables in the black bean chicken—still had a nice crunch. The crispy beef was tasty, though a little heavier than I usually go for. A solid spot for a relaxed meal.

Stopped in after a long walk, got a table right away. The haggis with neeps and tatties was solid comfort food, really hit the spot. Quick service, perfect for a hungry lunch. The woody vibe is nice.

Such a cosy spot for a catch-up! The owner was lovely, told us all about the recent refurb. The beer selection is huge, my friend spent ages deciding. Staff really know their stuff. Perfect for a relaxed evening with mates.

The vibe's still solid after all these visits. They keep it open late, which is a plus. Drinks selection is decent, nothing crazy but it does the job. Staff are always friendly, no complaints there.

Lovely neighbourhood pub, really feels like a local spot. The crowd was a nice mix of people, everyone just having a relaxed time. I found a cosy corner table and the staff were very friendly.

Stumbled in while waiting for the bus, ended up staying for quiz night. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, which is appreciated. Solid spot for a straightforward pub evening.

Cozy spot, perfect for a relaxed dinner. The lighting was just right, not too dim. Had the lamb shank, which fell off the bone nicely. Service was attentive without being overbearing. A solid choice for a low-key evening out.

Didn't eat, but the gin-making session was brilliant. Really interesting to learn the process, hands-on and fun. A unique thing to do.

Great spot in the centre. Loved the vibe with the little lights, really cosy. Burgers were good, even for vegans.

The lunch deal is solid. The gravy on the sausages had this rich, savoury depth you don't usually get at this price point. Really hit the spot on a grey afternoon.

The butter masala dosa was huge, easily enough for two. The sambhar was so flavourful and warming. Ended the meal with a free kheer, which was a nice surprise. For the price, you really get a lot of food.

Been coming here for years, and the gluten-free menu is why. They've got dedicated fryers, so I can actually order the fish and chips without worrying. It's a proper pub meal, not some afterthought. That consistency keeps me coming back.
