Here's a review of my stay: **Pros:** * **Fantastic Location:** Just a 10-minute walk to Jokhang Temple/Barkhor Street, and about 2 km from Potala Palace. It's tucked away in a quiet spot but still close to the action. * **Elegant ******* Design:** The lobby features a traditional ******* white stupa, red lacquer wood carvings, and white walls. The public areas have spacious gardens, and the rooftop bar offers direct views of Potala Palace at night – perfect for photos! * **Altitude Sickness Friendly:** Each room has an independent oxygen generator (which works really well!), a humidifier, and underfloor heating. There's also a 24-hour infirmary, making you feel completely secure regarding altitude sickness. * **Excellent Service:** Butler-style service. Upon check-in, we received a Hada scarf, yak butter tea, and welcome fruits/yak yogurt. The evening ceremony (******* knife champagne opening + bonfire + Guozhuang dance) was a truly special experience. * **Thoughtful Breakfast:** A semi-buffet with à la carte options, offering a great variety and consistent quality. They had ******* tsampa, cheese dregs, yak butter tea, alongside Western Eggs Benedict. **Cons (My Real Experience):** * **Noticeable Hardware Aging:** The hotel has been open for many years. The curtains were jammed/damaged, the rain shower had weak and erratic water flow, and the floors showed wear. Maintenance seems to be lacking. * **Inconsistent Service Details:** Turndown service was perfunctory. Amenities like body lotion were an extra charge. Some public areas and guest restrooms had hygiene blind spots (dust, water stains). * **Significant Price Fluctuations:** The room rate dropped considerably on the day of booking after I had already paid, which was a poor experience for members/repeat guests. There were also occasional tour groups, which reduced the sense of privacy. * **Inconvenient Public Area Layout:** Guest rooms are spread across different buildings, meaning long walks and tiring uphill climbs.

I fancy the accommodation selected in the large public space on the first floor here, but it was useless later. The room is very large, I like the sofa in the room to lie down. The bathroom is a bit cold and the bath water is not very hot. Because the boss returned to his hometown for the New Year, the overall feeling was that no one took care of him. But it's okay to overdo one night. Highly recommend the buffet breakfast in the celebrity cafeteria next door, 40 yuan per person, very rich.

GGuest UserBlindly picked this hotel in Lhasa and it was an absolute gem! Seriously recommending it to all first-timers in Tibet! 📍 Amazing Location Super close to Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. You can just stroll there on foot. It's super convenient for exploring Barkhor Street and watching pilgrims. No need for constant taxis, saving time and effort, making travel a joy! 🚶‍♀️ 🚗 Perfect for Drivers The hotel has its own parking, which is a huge relief. After a long drive, you can just unload your luggage and check in – so convenient! 💨 Altitude Sickness Buster | 20-Hour Whole-Room Oxygen Supply My biggest fear coming to Lhasa was not being able to sleep or getting headaches. This place offers a full 20 hours of continuous oxygen supply. The room felt well-oxygenated, not dry or stuffy. I slept soundly all night long ✨ with absolutely no altitude sickness. Woke up feeling refreshed and quickly recovered my energy 🙏. 💖 Full of Ritual and Warmth The moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed! They thoughtfully offered a warm towel to wash away travel fatigue. They also presented a sacred Hada ✨, a beautiful ******* welcome with an amazing ambiance. 🧺 Hassle-Free Travel | Free Laundry Service There’s a clean and tidy laundry room. They even help with washing and drying clothes. No worries about dirty clothes during your trip, traveling light is so comfortable!~ Overall, it offers great value for money, thoughtful details, and a comfortable stay. If you're visiting Lhasa, just book this place without hesitation. I'll definitely stay here again next time!

GGuest UserMy stay at the Shangri-La Hotel in Lhasa was absolutely impeccable from start to finish. Every detail, from the airport pickup to daily living, dining, and transportation, showcased professionalism and warmth. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lhasa! The airport pickup service was punctual and attentive. The driver was calm and professional, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey. Throughout our trip, the hotel arranged a dedicated driver to take us to Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace. The routes were well-planned, the driving was steady, and he waited patiently, allowing us to easily visit these sacred sites without any worries. I must give special praise to our butler, Zhixi. His service was incredibly meticulous and he anticipated our every need. From guiding us during check-in and offering itinerary suggestions to providing tips for high altitude, he followed up attentively throughout, always responsive to our requests. He handled every small detail with such care and thoughtfulness, making us feel completely at ease. The dining experience at the restaurant was excellent. The dishes were varied, delicious, and of high quality. A special thanks to Dekyi Wangmo for her exceptional care. Her service was warm and attentive; she proactively anticipated our needs, from taking orders to refilling tea and providing thoughtful details. The dining atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, and we enjoyed every meal thoroughly. This was especially helpful for us who experienced some altitude sickness. Standard hotel services were also top-notch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were humble, courteous, and responded quickly. Whether it was helping with facilities, addressing requests, or providing temporary assistance, they were efficient and warm, truly making us feel at home. From airport transfers and butler service to restaurant care, the Shangri-La Hotel's exceptional dedication protected our entire journey, making our high-altitude trip warm and smooth.

LLanmaobingliTraveling to Tibet with a friend, I chose this hotel in Lhasa after considering reviews and ratings, and I was pleasantly surprised! It's hands down the best service I've ever experienced in a hotel. The butler contacted us beforehand and arranged for a driver to pick us up from the train station. The clean and comfortable car, along with the offered Hada, immediately made us feel truly welcome. Upon arrival at the hotel, they thoughtfully provided Rhodiola tea to help with altitude sickness. The Tibetan-style architecture and rooms were clean, grand, and spacious – exactly the hotel style I was looking for. The diffused oxygen and humidifier were already on, ensuring that the two nights here were the most restful and peaceful sleep I had throughout my entire Tibet trip. The room faced Nanshan (South Mountain), and opening the window revealed distant snow-capped mountains and the 'Long Live the Motherland' mountain. Both the morning and night views were stunning. Breakfast was also delicious and diverse, offering Chinese, Western, and ******* options – truly five-star standard. My only regret each day was not having a big enough appetite to try everything. This hotel offers excellent value for money, with convenient transportation, complete facilities, and attentive service. My best friend even praised my choice of hotel, as she, despite having altitude sickness, felt no discomfort in Lhasa thanks to the great rest she got here.

AAilvxingdexiaxiaojieWhen I first arrived in Lhasa, I stayed at Jicai, primarily because of its cleanliness and its proximity to the Potala Palace and Barkhor Street. My experience after checking in was excellent. After my trip to Nyingchi and Mêdog, I booked Jicai again. If you experience altitude sickness, the lobby provides an oxygen concentrator, and the rooms even have diffused oxygen supply. I had wanted to try breakfast in Lhasa, so on my last day, I bought the hotel's breakfast and discovered their noodles (fen) are really good. I regretted not booking a room with breakfast included. If you're still debating whether to book breakfast, my advice is to go for it if you like sour and spicy noodles, because their breakfast noodles are delicious. Delicious, delicious! Front desk service was good, and honestly, Jicai offers great value for money. Highly recommended.

BBubles~Service: The lady at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. We had booked a twin room, but she proactively upgraded us to a family suite! The room was spacious and decorated with unique ethnic characteristics. Facilities: The facilities are comprehensive, even including a medical oxygen concentrator! They also provide nasal cannulas. Everything you could possibly need is available. Environment: Excellent, and the soundproofing is good! There's also a Nepalese restaurant on the top floor of the hotel that many locals frequent, and hotel guests even get a discount! The hotel's location is also superb; it's only about a ten-minute walk to Jokhang Temple (at a leisurely pace, typical for Lhasa) and very close to the bus stop. There's also a delicious cold noodle shop right next to the hotel downstairs! I would definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Lhasa!

GGuest UserFacilities: Very comprehensive, with an oxygen machine and a humidifier, which greatly alleviated altitude sickness. Cleanliness: Excellent. I saw the staff meticulously cleaning the carpet, which made me feel safe. The bathroom and toilet were also very clean, with disposable toilet seats. Environment: Convenient parking, perfect for self-driving trips. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, simple, nutritious, and not overly heavy. The breakfast buffet is open from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, so even if I'm feeling unwell and wake up late, I don't have to worry about missing breakfast. Service: Xiaoluo, Suoqu, and Cangmujue were all very patient and welcoming, helping with mail and opening the door. Thank you. I had a very good impression of the hotel. I stayed here last time I visited Lhasa, and I will definitely stay again next time.

GGuest UserDuring the two days in Shanzeju, the peach blossoms bloomed more and more every day, and I felt the romance of winter🥰 The hotel environment is very beautiful, making us feel warm and comfortable during the journey. We arranged afternoon tea for us. For dinner, we can go to the ******* family to taste the farmhouse. The sweet tea is very delicious, with a strong milky aroma and not too sweet. Special praise goes to Mr. Wang and Azhen, who are very attentive and enthusiastic in every detail, and their service exceeds that of a five-star resort hotel🫶🏻🫶🏻🥰🥰 Travel to Nyingchi ”Milin”, come to Shanzeju to feel the charm here👍🏻👍🏻
