"A very peaceful space. The staff are very friendly, especially to the kids. Only a couple blocks from Odori Park, and right around the corner from the old government building. The set breakfast was a very interesting and unique experience. The onsen was very nice as well. The kids had fun playing is the little corner of snow across the street"

"At first glance, the hotel surprised me with its traditional environment. Everything is covered with tatami, even the aisles and the entrance. The in-room wooden bathtub, as well as the public and private onsens, were awesome—I really enjoyed soaking in them. The only disadvantage was the food; while the plating and portions were excellent, the taste could've been better. Also their snack bar was quite frugal."

"The biggest plus for this hotel is its excellent location, right opposite the JR station. The breakfast here is also quite good; although everything is served in very small portions, the quality is decent. This time, I specifically booked the 27-square-meter Nordic Twin Room, which is considered a more spacious room type. However, it was very strange that there was no proper desk in the room, only a very small coffee table. I had to place my cosmetics on the windowsill. There was also no luggage rack, so my elderly travel companion had to put their suitcase on the floor and bend over to pack. Additionally, the room cleaning was very careless. Water stains on the faucet and hair on the floor were never cleaned. Although there was a capsule coffee machine in the room, we stayed for three days and the capsules were never refilled."
For our last night in Hokkaido, we drove all the way from Kushiro to this small hotel in Biei. The hotel was tiny, and although it had a second floor, there was no elevator. The staff were incredibly enthusiastic and even helped us carry our luggage, which made us feel a bit embarrassed. Our room came with a private open-air onsen, so it was quite spacious, but the futon mattress was a little hard. It made me miss my smart electric mattress back home! The food here was also great; both breakfast and dinner were typical Japanese cuisine, perfectly to my liking. Definitely recommended!
After working through New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, I finally got to relax at Daiichi-san after 10 years. The open-air bath by the river's gentle murmur was incredibly soothing, both for body and soul. The dinner was perfectly seasoned; I could eat it without getting bored, and the breakfast accompaniments and pickles were also delicious. The audio room, the coffee and soft-serve ice cream in the lounge, and the 24-hour coffee and tea service were all fantastic – there was so much to enjoy, I couldn't even try everything! It seems like there are more international staff now, but everyone spoke Japanese very well and handled irregular situations smoothly, making for a very comfortable stay. I even got to see a Blakiston's fish owl, and all the staff were wonderfully cheerful and charming.
I had a great time. I booked a room on the top floor.
Business hotels are cramped, so I stayed overnight with a friend.
There was a sauna, karaoke, and a large TV.
It was also well soundproofed, so I could drink and make a lot of noise. I had a great time.
