Beautiful courtyard and excellent service! ⭐️
The hotel has a stunning courtyard exterior, and the interior was also very pretty. It has a more rustic, traditional feel, so don’t expect super modern facilities - but we actually enjoyed the charm of it.
In terms of cleanliness, it could be improved slightly. There was some mould in the bathroom, likely due to the moisture, and we noticed a little dust underneath the sofa. However, the bed itself was clean, which was the most important thing for us. The bed was also slightly firmer than what we’re used to, but this is really just a personal preference and didn’t take away from the overall experience.
The location is about a 20-minute walk to the market square, but it honestly didn’t feel that long as there are plenty of shops, sights and eateries along the way. We actually really liked the quieter location, and there were still plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, so it was quite convenient.
The service was excellent. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, both when communicating with us on WeChat and in person. We stayed for 3 nights and were given a complimentary car ride from the train station, which was very much appreciated. Free drinking water was also provided.
When we checked out, the staff even helped bring our luggage to the nearest exit from the ancient town, which was a huge help as the streets are cobbled and there are some uphill sections towards the exit.
Overall, you really get what you pay for. It was an affordable stay with excellent service, and we were happy with our experience. While the hotel is more rustic and the cleanliness could be improved in some areas, the friendly service, beautiful courtyard and overall value made up for it. We didn’t mind the slightly less convenient location either, especially since the area was quieter and still had plenty of shops and eateries nearby. 😊
