Show More ReviewsXuedou Mountain Scenic Area boasts beautiful scenery, with mountains, water, and the Great Maitreya Buddha. Chiang Kai-shek's former residence is full of the charm of the Republic of China era and is worth a visit. I bought a combined ticket for the attractions; you scan it before entering each individual attraction, and it includes the shuttle bus within Xuedou Mountain, which was generally reasonable. The only downside was the cable car down and back from Qianzhangyan, which was a bit expensive. Currently, the small train is out of service; the main attraction after going down is the waterfall. The waterfall is quite spectacular. A round-trip cable car ride of 30 yuan per adult would be much more cost-effective, since the lower section is temporarily closed and you can only return.
