Mount Mangdang Tourist Area

Mount Mangdang Tourist Area is situated on the eastern Henan plain, renowned as the "Birthplace of the Han Dynasty." Centered around Han culture, this attraction holds historical significance as Emperor Gaozu of Han, Liu Bang, launched his uprising by slaying a serpent here. It serves as the burial site for eight generations of nine kings from the Western Han Liang Kingdom, forming an expansive royal mausoleum complex. The area has yielded priceless artifacts like jade burial suits sewn with gold thread and the Cloud-Patterned Painting of Four Deities. Key attractions include the Great Han Scenic Area featuring Liu Bang's bronze statue, the Liu Bang Serpent-Slaying Garden, Empress Li's underground palace of King Xiao of Liang, and Mount Mangdang Geological Park. The landscape blends autumn maple forests, Han Dynasty cliff carvings, mysterious caves, and antique-style architecture, harmonizing historical grandeur with natural wonders. Currently designated as a national 5A-level tourist attraction, it stands as a vital landmark for exploring the origins of Han culture.
