Sofitel Xining

The best hotel in Xining! 🏨 I used my Ctrip points to get it for just over 300 RMB, haha, what a steal! It also included breakfast for two. The breakfast spread 🍳 was extensive, with lots of choices, plus milk, eggs, and fermented rice wine available to drink.

The hotel's location is pretty good, not far from the supermarket and shops nearby. The lobby is decorated with Thangka paintings. However, it's quite noisy due to the heavy traffic since it's located right by the street.

Staying here in Xining was great; the location is super convenient, with plenty of shopping malls, restaurants, and bars nearby. It's definitely the trendiest and most vibrant spot around. The hotel maintained the usual high standards of an Accor Sofitel. The housekeeping staff did a good job, though the front desk was a bit unremarkable. The gym, pool, and sauna are all available, which is a plus. However, it would have been even more perfect if there was a hot tub.

The concierge service was pretty bad. Whether it was the communication regarding parking and greeting guests or the temporary storage of items, losing things is simply unacceptable. It's a shame because the luggage assistance and overall service were actually quite good.

The location is very convenient, and the room is clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. The staff are enthusiastic, and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The environment is quiet, and I'd be happy to stay here again. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

I stayed at both of the top-rated hotels in Xining, and my verdict is that this one is far more comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, and the bathtub even has a TV, which the kids absolutely loved! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Xining.

The room interiors, appliances, and bathroom fixtures show clear signs of age and general wear, lacking proper renovation and maintenance. The breakfast experience was quite disappointing. The selection wasn't extensive, and what really impacted the experience was that most hot dishes were lukewarm throughout, indicating very poor insulation, which significantly detracted from the taste. On the bright side, the service deserves commendation. The front desk and concierge staff were warm, friendly, and highly responsive. They were very patient during check-in and with inquiries, showing great attention to detail. Overall, the hotel excels in service and its retro aesthetic, but there's significant room for improvement in both hardware and breakfast quality.

Overall, the room's hygiene and facilities are quite good, and the location is also very convenient. It's relatively quiet at night as well. It would be even more perfect if the smart home features and smart appliances could be upgraded. For example, upgrading to smart toilets and smart curtains would significantly enhance the guest experience.
