The Westin Tokyo

The service was excellent and the room was clean, plus the garden is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast offered a wide selection of choices, and there was plenty of seating. The location is also fantastic – it's quiet despite being in a bustling area. The area around Ebisu Garden is super chill, and it's only a five-minute walk to Lemaire.

This hotel is located in a quiet and comfortable upscale neighborhood in Tokyo. Right across from it are the three-Michelin-starred French restaurant Joël Robuchon and its casual offshoot. The business complex opposite also boasts various restaurants and observation decks on the 38th and 39th floors, and a Lemaire boutique is nearby. It's a redecorated old-school hotel, high-end and elegant, with a classic, old-money vibe. The only slight downside is that they still use the old American bedding style – a blanket tucked into a flat sheet – which isn't very comfortable.

First off, the service was absolutely wonderful. Since we booked the room for our anniversary, the entire experience, from the pre-arrival communication with the hotel to checking in at the front desk and the in-room service, was incredibly warm and thoughtful. They even surprised us with a bottle of champagne! Secondly, both the hotel and the room facilities were great. Our room was on a high floor with a view of Tokyo Tower, and it was stunning, whether during the day or at night.

I really love the Ebisu location; it's perfect for tourists who want to experience Tokyo in depth. While the transportation might not be as convenient as some other areas, it's very easy to get to Daikanyama and Nakameguro from here. Or, simply taking a stroll around the hotel is quite pleasant. The plaza in front of the hotel is beautiful and convenient. Many Japanese couples hold their weddings here, so it can be quite lively. There's always a good crowd. The food is plentiful, but it never changes, which can get a bit boring. The menu has been the same for all my visits over the past six months.

The interior design is classic and the garden is beautiful. However, the service is quite average, especially the staff at the breakfast entrance – they didn't even smile or greet us. Overall, the staff felt cold and didn't meet the standards of a five-star hotel. Many of the bread items at breakfast were cold, and there was nothing particularly noteworthy about the food. Aside from the good location in Ebisu, everything else was really just so-so.

The room isn't huge, but that's a common issue with hotels in Tokyo. Breakfast was decent. The location is super convenient, just a 10-minute walk from Ebisu Station. Plus, it's right next to Ebisu Garden Place, where you can even catch a glimpse of Tokyo Tower. The overall vibe of the area is really nice. If I'm ever around here again, I'd definitely consider staying here.
