Seriously impacted our stay, highly NOT recommended! Travelers considering booking, please think twice!
This stay, booked through Trip.com, was a massive disappointment. First, the platform's information transparency is incredibly poor – the renovation notice was tucked away at the very bottom of the webpage, a spot most travelers would completely miss. When I discovered it before my trip and tried to get a free cancellation, the hotel replied, "The renovation is in a different building and won't affect your stay at all." However, upon actual check-in, it was a completely different story!
Travelers planning to book this hotel must be aware of the following issues:
1) Extremely strong paint thinner/paint odor: Although the renovated building was cordoned off, as soon as we reached our accommodation floor, the hallway and air were filled with a very pungent paint thinner smell, severely impacting our rest quality. The renovation significantly affects the environment; currently, this hotel is absolutely not worth considering!
Outdated room facilities and poor maintenance:
2) Bathroom facility issues: Hot water supply was extremely slow. Every time I showered, I had to let the water run for at least 5 minutes to get hot water. The plastic panel of the power outlet in the bathroom even had cracks, giving the impression of poor maintenance.
3) Old door lock and wooden frame: The wooden frame of the room door was very old, especially the anti-theft chain lock on the back of the door, which was very stiff and difficult to use.
4) Only advantage: The hotel room space was relatively spacious.
Regarding service and subsequent compensation:
Trip.com Customer Service: In response to the dispute over the hidden renovation notice before check-in, the platform's customer service eventually compensated 10% of the accommodation fee.
Hotel Front Desk: Knowing our extreme dissatisfaction with the renovation's impact, the hotel compensated us with four days of free breakfast; furthermore, when we requested a late check-out until 1:00 PM, the hotel was happy to accommodate.
Conclusion: Although Trip.com compensated 10% of the cost, and the hotel front desk provided free breakfast and accommodated late check-out, the outdated room facilities, slow hot water, and the pungent paint thinner smell severely damaged our quality of stay. I strongly advise other travelers not to consider this hotel until the renovation work is thoroughly completed and the facilities are updated!
