Sarhad Hotel Bukhara

I had to wait a long time to check in when I arrived, possibly because I booked that same evening and the hotel hadn't updated the order yet. I had booked a city view room, but was told the hotel's order was for a courtyard view, and that city view rooms were no longer available. The hotel offered to let me switch rooms the next day, but I decided against it as I didn't want to go through the hassle again. Later, the owner waived the laundry service fee for me. The next day, they asked for my passport again, saying they forgot to register it during check-in the day before. It really made me wonder what the front desk staff was doing during check-in that night. The owner, however, was quite polite and had a good attitude. The courtyard view room lacked privacy; I had to keep the curtains drawn all the time, which made it feel a bit claustrophobic. The room itself was mostly fine, but the bathroom's exhaust fan might be too close to the kitchen's range hood exhaust, as I could smell cooking fumes from breakfast in the bathroom in the mornings. Breakfast was just so-so. It started at 8 AM, and by a little after 9 AM, some dishes were almost gone. For example, there were only two fried eggs left, perhaps they weren't refilled promptly. While breakfast was filling, the variety and taste weren't as good as breakfasts at similarly priced hotels in China, so don't set your expectations too high. The figs, though, were good and sweet. Overall, it felt more like a guesthouse. If you're looking for more professional service and more facilities, a chain hotel would be a better fit. But if you're looking for value for money, it's sufficient for a quick stopover.

Had a pleasant stay. Breakfast was decent. Be sure to check out the rooftop terrace! The location isn't bad. There's a camel experience next to Ark. It's nice and peaceful here.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days. The hotel is new and tastefully decorated. We particularly loved the courtyards that the room windows overlooked. The rooms were clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is ideal – within walking distance of the market and the main attractions of the old city. The biggest plus, however, was the staff and the hotel owner. They recommended delicious Uzbek restaurants where locals eat, helped us with all our questions and issues, and even drove us to the train station late on our last night since we had an overnight train. I highly recommend staying here!

The biggest downside was the slow air conditioning. Also, the bathroom window wasn't properly frosted, so people could see in from outside. Everything else was great though. The owner was very kind, and the hotel is super conveniently located, within walking distance to all the attractions. But I have to really rave about the breakfast! While the variety wasn't huge, the ingredients were top-notch, and there were so many delicious options. Out of the five hotels I stayed at on this trip, this one definitely had the best food!

The best accommodation. I could do laundry during my long trip, and the owner and staff were all incredibly kind. It's not a large hotel, but it's cozy, has a great atmosphere, and the inner courtyard was beautiful both day and night. Highly recommend!

If you're visiting with the goal of seeing all the historical sights, then this hotel is definitely the one to choose! The location is perfect, and you won't need any transportation; everything is within easy walking distance. You can stroll leisurely, sit in cafes, and enjoy ice cream on a bench in the shade. The room is tastefully decorated, all the furniture and fixtures are new, there's a large TV, a kettle, water, and all bathroom amenities. I particularly want to highlight the breakfast – it's simply amazing how delicious everything is! I wholeheartedly recommend it in Bukhara! Afterwards, you can shop at the central market, which is right opposite, and enjoy shashlik and pilaf at the cafe at reasonable prices.
