The sky flyer is a giant high-altitude swing at Asiatique, the riverside night market along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Its tower stands approx. 135 m tall, equivalent to over thirty stories, and is easily recognizable from the riverside area. Its official name, "Wings of Garudapterus," is inspired by pterosaur fossils discovered by Thai paleontologists. The mechanical arms take design cues from pterosaur wings, belonging to the same series as the Jurassic-themed experience zone in the night market, allowing riders to glide over the river like a pterosaur.

The experience begins when you take your seat: over twenty open-air seats rise, rotate, and swing with mechanical arms, with height and swing speed increasing simultaneously. Cool breezes brush past as you look down at the cruise, docks, and skyline along the Chao Phraya River, offering a 360-degree view of Bangkok. The daytime provides clear vistas, while after sunset, the city lights unfold. The tower's LED lights change colors with the music, creating a striking sight from the river. The facility offers different speed settings, including gentler modes, allowing even less adventurous travelers to give it a try.

A few details worth knowing in advance: Board around sunset to enjoy daytime views, dusk, and the first lights of the evening in one ride; evenings and weekends tend to be busier, so allow extra time for queues; phones are not allowed during the ride, but you can rent action cameras on-site to capture aerial footage, and lockers are available for personal items; high-altitude winds are strong, so travel light and avoid loose accessories; height requirements apply for children, with some height ranges requiring adult supervision, while those with acrophobia or motion sensitivity should assess their comfort level.
