## Location Unbeatable location. It's within walking distance of Gwanghwamun, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Deoksugung Palace. It's also close to City Hall, Myeongdong, Anguk, and Insadong, making it rich in commercial facilities. However, being in the Central Business District (CBD), the surroundings can be bustling with many office workers. ## View The view was also exceptional. However, I expect the quality of the view to vary significantly depending on the room line. In my case, it was a section of the Pagoda Tower that offered a great line of sight, with a panoramic view of the Euljiro building line – Hanhwa Building, Mirae Asset, Shinhan Bank – and the Cheonggyecheon Stream stretching out. While it might not appeal to those who find city views stifling, I personally found it very pleasing. ## Room I received an upgrade to a Jacuzzi Suite, and since the bed was separated from the rest of the space by a door, the bed didn't get damp like it sometimes does at Banyan Tree. The living room with the jacuzzi also didn't feel overly humid. The bedding and other furniture were impeccably clean. I was initially concerned because there was construction going on in the building during my visit, but I barely heard any noise. It seemed like a lot of attention was paid to soundproofing. The late check-out was also reasonably priced at 20,000 KRW, and overall, it was an excellent experience. ## Service Overall, the service was excellent, though I subtly felt that the staff weren't entirely accustomed to handling requests yet. However, this isn't to say there was a lack of professionalism. For some unknown reason, perhaps overbooking, I received a room upgrade without any inconvenience whatsoever. Any difficulties or questions I had during my stay were addressed promptly and smoothly. However, having to use a personal phone for room service or inquiries felt a bit awkward and was a slight downside. ## Overall Review A superb hotel that I would definitely revisit. It has solid fundamentals, reasonable pricing, and is just a minute's walk from Cheonggyecheon Stream, perfect for a stroll anytime. Its location is ideal for accessing major tourist spots anywhere in Seoul, including Myeongdong, City Hall, Gwanghwamun, Anguk, and Namsan. However, I wouldn't recommend it for those looking for a pure 'hotelcation' (a vacation spent entirely at the hotel). It's highly recommended if sightseeing is a major part of your trip.

The location is excellent, making it convenient to get to Myeongdong, Hongdae, and Seongsu, with plenty of food options downstairs. Self-check-in was very convenient, and there's a washing machine and cooking area in the common space. The downsides are that there are many bars nearby, so solo female travelers should be extra careful at night. Also, the facility instructions are only in Korean and English; it would be much more user-friendly if Chinese signs were added.

We stayed at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun for 3 days and 2 nights, and later booked another 2 days and 1 night after our staycation at Nami Island. • Front desk service: The staff spoke English well and were very accommodating. They kindly allowed us to store our luggage during our Nami Island trip since we had another booking at the same hotel. • Room quality: The room was clean and spacious. However, I personally didn’t like the wooden floor—it felt a bit uncomfortable to walk on without room slippers. • Location: The hotel is centrally located in the city, within walking distance to Bukchon Hanok Village and Gyeongbokgung Palace, and close to several subway stations. • Food options nearby: Plenty of choices, from traditional Korean BBQ to fast food like Burger King. Just note that many restaurants close around 9–10 PM. ✨ Overall: A convenient city hotel with friendly staff, good service, and easy access to major attractions. The luggage storage service was especially helpful for our trip planning.

The location is excellent. The hotel is within walking distance of popular attractions such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Ssamziegil, and Cheonggyecheon Stream. There are also plenty of cafés nearby. The hotel offers an onsen, complimentary ice cream, drinks, and late-night soba noodles. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Highly recommend this hotel ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The room was perfect for a solo traveler! All the facilities were complete and clean, and I really liked the decor. The furniture in the room was arranged very compactly, making me feel secure when sleeping ✨. I used to be so scared at night in other hotels, but I didn't feel that way at all here. The room also had multi-standard charging sockets for international guests, as well as multilingual instructions, which shows incredibly thoughtful and detailed design!

This was the best hotel of my trip to Korea. It's conveniently located, making it easy to get around, and it was very clean and tidy. To the north are Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village, and to the south are Cheonggyecheon Stream and Myeongdong. I would definitely choose to stay here again next time.

Although Japanese wasn't spoken, a kind lady explained things clearly in simple English, which was very helpful! ^_^ The room was spacious enough for a student trip, and I really appreciated being able to open two large, L-sized suitcases. It was also very clean and tidy, so I felt comfortable staying there. The room entrance had a small entryway, which was great because I could wipe my suitcase wheels there without getting the main floor dirty. You can get to the nearest subway station from Seoul Station on a single line, with no transfers. It was close to the station and there was a bus stop nearby, which was convenient. However, walking through a small alley-like street for a bit felt a little scary. But there was also a convenience store, so that was handy. There were two of us, but there were plenty of outlets, so we never ran out of places to charge our devices! The bathroom was also clean and spacious, which was a plus! There's a common area in the basement where you can eat instant ramen. They even have less spicy options, so I think Japanese people would enjoy it too. Every morning, we also got toast and cereal. Since I just need something to eat in the morning, it was easy and convenient. They also have games and karaoke. I love karaoke, so I used it many times during my stay, lol. It was a really good hotel, but there were just two things that made me go ”hmm...”;; Firstly, there was only one chair in the room. My friend and I ate ice cream, and one of us had to awkwardly kneel to eat it... ( ; ; ) For a twin room, I'd really like to have two chairs ( ; ; ) Secondly, the smell in the corridor from the lobby down the stairs to the basement common area was a bit concerning. It smelled the same for all three days, and that particular spot was quite smelly, so I hope it's something that can be resolved with cleaning ( ; ; ) However, it's a very good hotel, so I highly recommend it! The access was good, and it was convenient! I'd love to stay again! ☆

My flight was delayed, so I had to find a place to stay last minute, but I was relieved to find a clean room. It was perfectly fine for a short overnight stay. The only thing was that the toilet and shower were in the same unit, but since I was only there for a short time and didn't use them, it wasn't an issue. Essential amenities, water, and towels were available outside the room. The shared microwave and washing machine were also very helpful.

We needed a place just for 2 nights. I wouldn’t recommend it if you plan to stay longer. The room was a way small for us three. Plus it was very loud in the corridor at nights, we could hear everything. But we knew where we were going , as it’s a budget place. The staircase is awful (see the photo ) especially to drag your suitcases up. The common space for making food and eating is quite clean and nice. Tea , coffee, Ramen 🍜 are free 😁👍🏼. The location is great. A metro station is just a 5 min walk. Nearby there is a market to try national food . The donuts were good ))

Our flight was cancelled due to a typhoon, so it was a last-minute booking, but this hotel turned out to be the perfect choice! It's located at the entrance of a trendy area bustling with places like Mil Toast, and Jongno is within walking distance, so you'll have no trouble finding cafes and restaurants. There's even a 7-Eleven right in front. The room and bathroom are relatively compact, but the excellent location more than makes up for it. The shuttle bus to Incheon is about a 12-minute walk away! I highly recommend this hotel.
