The Hanging Temple offers little to see without climbing it, and climbing it is tiring. There are many restaurants near the Yungang Grottoes, so avoid eating at the Hanging Temple. I don't recommend listening to guided tours of the grottoes; I felt I knew more than I did myself, and they didn't get to the point. The all-encompassing sculptural art of the grottoes is still very impressive. The driver was very nice and friendly. There was no smell of smoke in the car. The ride was smooth.
