Morning stroll
We were in Athens for the weekend and wanted to go for a walk. The park was nice. Trails were well marked. It was too hot to really enjoy the trails. But I would visit again when it was cooler.
Great place for a memorial service
Sandy Creek Park was one of my nephew's favourite places to find solitude, hike trails, swim, and canoe. When he passed, his family choose the park to hold his memorial service on a Friday morning. ...
Great park close to downtown
Easy 10 minute drive from downtown athens. There is a minimal park entrance fee. We rented Kayak which was $8 for the hour.
Great park!!
We stopped here on the way up to Blairsville, GA and had a picnic. There is a fee to get in. Lots of places to sit in or out of the sun. Bathrooms are open. Nice Beach. The trails are paved but ...
