Nice open place, but empty...only one monument...not very clean.... why we came for a visit? Old, ruined facades...Cmon, SLO is in EU for 30 years and you couldn't rehabilitate city center?
The newly pedestrianised area makes wandering an absolute pleasure with no fear of traffic- it has been completed sensitively and is a feather in the cap of the Maribor authorities!
We spent the night in Maribor and dinner in one of its streets in the center. It is very animated and full of people. We couldn't admire it with the light of the day but it has a charm.

Empty square....
