It is a bastion and gate in the Venetian walls. It was named for its location near a sandy – sabbioso in Italian - beach. The gate is gone but the ramparts remain.

It is a bastion and gate in the Venetian walls. It was named for its location near a sandy – sabbioso in Italian - beach. The gate is gone but the ramparts remain.
