We always plan to take a few minutes to stop along the Cimarron River as we make the drive from Texas to our home in Angel Fire. The scenery is great and a short walk along the river is peaceful.

Lovely river
Caught fish, some areas were catch and release. Very pretty areas. You can either buy the State Park pass, pay a day use price or park on a pull-out.
Beautiful canyon
Great hiking and fishing. Still a lot of fire scars, but that will get better with time. And, it is the closest mountain stream for me.
