This is a lovely park and beach in Kamaishi, at the site of the Hanaoi Hotel and Resort. The area was damaged by the March 2011 tsunami, but reconstruction work continues. The hotel seems to be closed...

This was my first time visiting this coast and park, even though I have been on the national highway from Kamaishi to Otsuki many times and many years. When I went last year, I was watching reconstruction work and gravel storage, so it was not an atmosphere to go to this direction. After passing through the first tunnel from Kamaishi to Otsuki, you will see the sign of "Mizukai Park" on the right side. If you follow the road along the coast, you will suddenly see a large open square. In front of you is the beach of love, a very nice name beach. Good place with such an environment ...
