Ah, that's what it is
Original Text
Frankly, I didn't know what it was. I just saw and photographed. The tomb is in a niche right next to the road. I was walking from Dzeniaray Benten to Gokokuji.
It is about a 10-minute walk toward Kita-Kamakura Station from the west exit of Kamakura Station along the Yokosuka Line. It's in a cave, but I heard that this place used to be part of the precincts of Eishoji Temple. Abu Ni is the author of "Sixteen Nights Diary" (pronounced as "Izayo Nikki").
Do you know "Abutsuni's Tomb"? From the west exit of JR Kamakura Station, there was a memorial tower for Abutsuni, known for his 16th Night Diary, under the cliff of the Eishoji cemetery along the Yokosuka Line, which passed Sushi Shrine and Yasaka Okami. A memorial tower and a small lantern stand in the cave. The pedestal was engraved with Abutsu.
Is there more than 10 minutes walk from Kamakura Station? There are no shops and few tourists around here, so it's a quiet place if the train doesn't pass. Flowers were offered, probably because Eishoji Temple was in good condition. From here, there is a tomb of my son Tameo Reizen in Jokomyoji Temple, which is across the railroad tracks.
The tomb of Abutsuni, who is a talented female literary scholar who is comparable to Murasaki Shikibu, and is said to be the book of his good wife and wise mother, is very close to Eishoji Temple. I didn't notice that I've been to Eishoji many times. When you visit Eishoji Temple, please stop by here.
