As soon as you go down to the left in the precincts where the main hall of Kokawaji is located, you will find the Honbo of Kokawaji on your right, and you can see the garden and the Saigyo Memorial Hall. The admission fee is 500 yen. As soon as you go up to Honbo, you will see the 350-year-old Kaitang. The trunk was wrapped with tape and protected by a pipe, but it had pretty pink flowers. You can appreciate two gardens from Honbo. One is dry landscape, and on the other side is a bright garden with plants, and there is the Saigyo Memorial Hall in the back. The memorial hall exhibited the footprints of Saigyo, picture scrolls related to Saigyo, hanging scrolls, statues of Saigyo Hoshi, books, etc., and I visited it with interest. Worth a look. The cherry blossoms with very splendid branches in front of the memorial hall have passed the peak of full bloom, but there are plenty of remnants, and the pale pink carpet patterns with scattered petals 々 It was very splendid and I felt the beauty of the scattered petals.
