　When I headed from Kirishima Jingu near the national highway running south, I came to Monzen Town, where tourist information centers and several shops are gathered. Kirishima Folk Art Village was located one step lower on the river side of Monzen Town. When I headed for "Kirishima Folk Art Village" wondering what it was, there was a building like a magnificent mansion. Large woodworking products made of Yakusugi are lined up inside. There was also the Yakusugi Historical Museum.

It's a building that feels like a shinden-zukuri style.

　There was a tradition called Kirishima Folk Art Village in Monzen Town of Kirishima Jingu. It is a little down from the road in Monzen Town to the Kirishima River side. The building feels the prestigious style of Shinden-zukuri. When I entered such a hall a little scared, I saw quite large wooden folk crafts and woodworking products lined up. It's also the "Yakusugi Museum".

It's free, but it's worth seeing.

If you go to Kirishima Jingu, this is a must-visit spot. I thought it was an exhibit, but I was surprised that there was 40 million yen for the Buddhist altar of Yakusugi among the luxury products! On the other hand, the usual Ryujin-yaki plates are sold at a reasonable price. I bought a leaf-shaped plate. There are many Yakusugi products, and I also bought a Yakusugi comb. The beard comb is expensive, but the Yakusugi comb is a reasonable price. I had the shop staff explain it carefully and it was also a study.

The building itself is also interesting.

The building is a historic building and has a strange taste. As soon as you enter, there is an exhibition corner, and there is a souvenir shop beyond that. There is a room beyond that, and you can enjoy it even if you visit the building. Admission is free, so it is one of the spots you want to stop by when you go to Kirishima.
