    Typical Sod House

    This sod house was located near a recreation center. Surprisingly, it was in very good shape with teenagers playing closeby.

    Easy to locate

    Marysville is not huge and has a very nice park with the sod house at one end. Next to it is a One Room School House.

    Interesting!

    We were surprised how thick the walls were on a sod house! We'd never seen one before, it was interesting.

    Original Sod House

    This is by far the most authentic Sod House I saw on my trip. Too bad there is some vandalism as it is sitting in the city park. But it is free to look at.

    Fine example of a soddy

    Fine example of a common home built when the prairie was being settled. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer. Worth a stop for historical reasons. The park also has a fine old locomotive on display,...
