Establishment of the Mihara Catholic Church

    Original Text

It was a full-body statue erected by the Mihara Catholic Church. Standing near the stone wall of the ruins of Mihara Castle, the origin of the era of Hideyoshi Toyotomi's Christian repression was recorded on the side monument.

    It's a piece of history.

    Original Text

It is a monument to St. Thomas Kozaki, 14 years old when he was executed in Nagasaki during the suppression of Christians. It is located in a place that rotates halfway from the entrance of the Mihara Castle Funairi turret.

You can go sightseeing with the castle site.

    Original Text

I recognized the place called Mihara via St. Thomas Kozaki, so I was impressed that it was so important and highly evaluated. However, for those who do not know the saints, it is only a statue standing in front of the stone wall of Mihara Castle Funairi turret. However, it is a comfortable place because it is in good condition. The stone wall behind the statue stands is also exposed to the bedrock before the castle was built, so it is a place you definitely want to stop by.

    Original Text

A statue in front of the ruins of Mihara Castle Funairi turret. It is a statue of a boy with a pen. On the information board, there is a farewell letter written to his mother at Mihara Castle while being escorted by Thomas Kozaki, who was executed in Nagasaki due to the suppression of Christians by Hideyoshi Toyotomi. He was still 14 years old when he was executed. He is still praised as one of the 26 saints in Japan.
