A Perfect Summer Retreat: The Secluded and Beautiful Qingliang Mountain
Qingliang Mountain is a favorite spot among the old residents of Nanjing. With few visitors, a pleasant environment, lush vegetation, and gentle breezes, taking a summer trip to Qingliang Mountain to cool off is truly delightful.
Qingliang Mountain not only offers beautiful scenery in summer but also boasts a Ginkgo Valley in autumn, where golden leaves dance in the autumn breeze, creating a stunning sight. In winter, there are plum blossoms, allowing visitors to enjoy them in peace, away from the crowds at the Plum Blossom Hill of Zhongshan Mausoleum.
Qingliang Mountain spans across Hujulu and echoes the Stone City, presenting a contrast between majestic grandeur and serene depth.
Qingliang Mountain, formerly known as Stone Mountain, Shishou Mountain, or Stone City, is known as a 'Victory Site of the Six Dynasties.' The park is home to numerous famous historical sites and cultural relics, forming a profound historical and cultural heritage. Zhuge Liang once described the terrain of Jinling as 'where the tiger sits and the dragon coils,' with the 'tiger sits' referring to what is now Qingliang Mountain. During the Warring States period, King Wei of Chu established Jinling Yi here, and the mountain retained the name Stone City Mountain. During the Three Kingdoms period, Eastern Wu rebuilt the Stone City, also known as Stone Mountain. In the Southern Tang dynasty, a summer palace was built on the mountain, which served as the summer resort for the emperors of Southern Tang. It was renamed Qingliang Mountain in the Northern Song dynasty.
During the Kangxi reign of the Qing dynasty, Gong Xian, the foremost painter among the 'Eight Masters of Jinling,' purchased half an acre of land on the western foothills of Qingliang Mountain, built several houses, and lived in seclusion, naming his residence 'Half-Acre Garden.' It is said that the current Sweeping Leaves Tower was Gong Xian's former residence.

In the downtown park. I used to go to Qingliangshan Park from the main entrance of Guangzhou Road. This is the first time I have started to visit the park by the gate of Huyuguan. On weekdays, there are not many people, most of them are elderly people who come to morning exercises around. Follow the road signs to find Ginkgo Valley, too small, some small disappointment. But it is already a luxury to think that there is a green belt in this city center where the land is gold.
Yesterday I went to Qingliang Mountain Park. The scenic spot is not big. There are several scenic spots that are being built and cannot be opened, including Qingliang Temple, Wuhou Temple, etc. There are several open scenic spots, including Chongzheng College, Ginkgo Valley, etc., knowing that Nanjing's earliest name Stone City originated here.
Qingliang Mountain is known as the Stone Mountain and Stone City, which is known as the "Six Dynasties". There are many scenic spots and historical and cultural sites in the park, and the cultural heritage is deep. There is also a site of "Wuhou Zhu Mapo" on the east side of the park.
The circle money ability of Qingliangshan Park Management Office cannot be underestimated. I took a look at the luxury car on the internal parking lot and thought it was very good. Following the newly built Li Jianchen Art Museum (see Figure 2), Wei Zixi Art Museum (see Figure 3) and Liu Ning Photography Studio, Yuan Xian's former residence sweeping Yelou became a dining restaurant in Yushanfang (see Figure 1). Shicheng Fire Square (see Figure 7) was built in 2021.6. Zhuge Liang Bronze Statue was erected in Zhumapo in 2022 (see Figure 4), but whether Zhuge Liang has been to Jinling is still to be discussed, why is he here in Ma? Qingliang Mountain Wuhou Temple (see Figure 5) The taste of decoration has not yet dissipated, and half of the content is also with Zhuge Liang, and has nothing to do with the three countries. Besides, Wuhou Temple, large and small, is spread across the country, Chengdu, Nanyang, Xiangyang Gulongzhong, Gansu Lixian Wuzhangyuan, on history and scale, Which is harder than Qingliang Mountain. Walking and walking coldly, a warm house hidden in the green trees (see Figure 6), a closer look at the original place to taste noodles. The square in front of Qingliang Ancient Temple is full of small notes for blessings, I don't know how much it costs (see Figure 8); As one of the forty-eight scenes of the ancient Jinling, the "cool question Buddha", the existing Qingliang Temple a hall and several tile houses obviously can not show the identity and status of the origin of the Fayan Zong, so the expansion of the civil construction (see figure IX). At the same time, there is also a large parking lot built. I really don't know if this small park with few tourists needs to build such a large parking lot? It is a sigh to watch this park gradually become unscrupulous and unrecognisable.
Two weeks later, it coincided with the cold current, and I visited Qingliang Mountain as scheduled and went to Ginkgo Valley. Sure enough, Ginkgo Valley lived up to me, and the ginkgo leaves were golden and charming. The sign next to it suggests that this is the "7th Ginkgo Cultural Tourism Festival". There are more than 300 ginkgo trees planted here. Since 2015, Ginkgo Cultural Tourism Festival has been held here every November. Many older people compete to photograph here. Nanjing City West famous scenic spot Qingliang Mountain has the "six Dynasties" said, Zhuge Liang "Wuhou Zhu Mapo", Nantang Li Liang's Qingliang Ancient Temple to escape the heat, Chongzheng College traced the Ming Dynasty, Yuan Xian's sweeping Yelou, etc. are all famous attractions, and now Ginkgo Valley has become a beautiful place.
It is said that Zhuge Liang passed the Fuling (the name of Nanjing at that time), and he was here to praise the terrain of the Fuling: "Zhong Xue Long Xue, Shicheng Tiger Xue, and the real emperor's house." Hu Xue refers to the cool mountain today. There is Chongzheng College on the slopes of Dongguan. The Chongzheng Academy was first built in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, which meant to promote orthodox Confucianism. In the 1980s, the architect Yang Tingbao (Yang in the "Nanyang Beiliang", Liang Sicheng) presided over the re-establishment of Chongzheng Academy. Sweeping Leaf House on the west side Sweeping Leaf House on the slopes of Xiqiao, its owner is Xue Xian. Xue Xian, half a thousand words, famous painter and poet in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. He used to make self-portrait, hand-holding broom to sweep the fallen leaves, because it is called sweeping Leaf House.
