Imperial Castle of Nuremberg

Nuremberg Castle is a group of medieval fortifications on the sandstone ridge of Nuremberg's historic center. The castle, along with the city walls, is considered one of the most powerful medieval defenses in Europe. In the Middle Ages, Germany had no capital, but the king went from one castle to another. Thus, the castle of Nürnberg became an important imperial castle, and in the subsequent centuries all the German kings and emperors lived in it. The Nuremberg Castle has a history of 1,000 years.

The Nuremberg Castle is open to the public to visit mainly double chapels and museums. The exhibits are nothing but crowns, sceptres, armor, weapons, etc., and there is no surprise in itself. But the museum has a region dedicated to the Holy Roman Empire, which is worth a closer look.

The castle, located on the hilltop at the northern end of Nuremberg, is called the Emperor Castle or the Imperial Castle, also known as Caesar Castle or Nuremberg Castle, which is Nuremberg's most iconic medieval building.
