Piraeus is the outer port of Athens, from which you can take a boat to the Greek islands and Mediterranean coastal countries such as Italy. The subway station is Pier 7. There is a shuttle bus to Pier 1-5, and the rest of the pier is close and can be reached directly on foot.
There are two ways to get to Santorini from Athens: by plane, it takes only 45 minutes to reach the Holy Island, and by boat. There are various types of boats to the Holy Island, the fastest speed boat takes 4 hours, and the slow boat takes 8 hours, all from the port of Piraeus in southern Athens. We took the Blue Star (Blue Star Ferries) slow boat, departing at 7:00 in the morning, stopping at Paros-Naxos and Ios Island, and arriving at Holy Island at 15:00 in the afternoon. Although the slow boat takes a long time, the experience of taking a boat is good. The boat is very stable when sailing, and you can enjoy the blue sea and blue sky of the Aegean Sea and the scenery of the stopover island. In fact, I personally recommend two trips back and forth, one plane and one boat are more reasonable.
