After Saionji Kimi retired from the front line of politics, it was built along the old Tokaido in Okitsu in 1920 as a villa. It was demolished due to aging and relocated to Meiji Village in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture, but it has been open to the public since 2004 due to restoration work.
