当時の大型船も係留できた遺構が見事に残る
江戸時代に造られた対馬藩の藩船を係留するための施設の跡です。資料によれば干潮時には干上がるように造られているそうです。鎖国下でも朝鮮との往き来が続いていた対馬の象徴的な場所ですし、なんと言ってもこういった施設は全国的に近代の海岸線の開発でほとんど残っていないので離島ならではの貴重な遺構と思います。

珍しい近世の船溜まり
対馬藩の御用船を係留したもので1663年建設。近世の船溜まり遺跡としては全国的にみてもかなり貴重なものできれいに原形を保っている。築堤の石積みだけでなく正門、倉庫の跡などもあるとのこと。厳原の中心部から２キロぐらいだろうか。志賀ノ鼻大橋、お船江大橋をわたってすぐ。ツアーではいかなかったが、早朝５時半にホテルからジョギングがてら行ってみた。対岸は公園のようなただの空き地のような場所になっており、そこ...
