It is a shrine in the southwestern part of Tsuwano Castle and is famous for its ryumaba. I didn't have time to visit, so I only saw the ryumababa where the Shinto ritual of ryumaba was held. When he was transferred from Kamakura Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine when he was owned by the Yoshimi clan, who owned Tsuwano, Iwami Province, he was created by imitating the Baba of Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine, and it was a vast one with a total length of 243 m width of 27 m. There is a grass bank in the center, which looks like a seat to watch the ryumama. Because it is a famous place for cherry blossoms, there are many cherry blossoms, and in spring ...
The red cypress bark tower gate, worship hall, and main shrine built in the precincts surrounded by lush mountains are worth a visit.

This is a shrine I stopped by when I visited Hagi and Tsuwano. It is a famous place for the Shinto rituals of Ryuma. It is worth a visit to the red cypress bark tower gate, the hall of worship, and the main shrine built in the precincts surrounded by lush mountains.
It is a shrine that you definitely want to visit in Tsuwano.

I stopped the car at the roadside station Tsuwano Onsen Nagomi no Sato and visited. There is a horse riding ground for Naganouma, and the Shinto ritual of Naganouma (intangible folk cultural property designated by Tsuwano Town) is held on the second Sunday of April every year. The red cypress bark-roofed tower gate, worship hall, and main hall, which are important cultural properties, are worth a visit. The main shrine is covered with a roof on the outer circumference, so it is difficult to see. The stone carved Tang lion in front of the shrine is a masterpiece of the feudal sculptor Oshima Songkei.

Washihara Hachimangu is famous for Nagashima, but we recommend a trekking route from the ruins of Tsuwano Castle on the top of the mountain to Washihara Hachimangu. If you go down the mountain road for about 30 minutes from the south gate of the castle, you will see Osugi, which is 1000 years old, and Hachimangu Shrine in front of you. It is a little-known spot with a deep taste when you think that the samurai of the Edo period were protecting the castle through this mountain road. On the way back, it is about a 30-minute walk from Hachimangu to the center of town. It is also good to take a hot spring at the roadside station on the way.
The shrine on the outskirts of Tsuwano is famous for its "Ryuma" and the buildings are designated as nationally designated important cultural properties. If you put a car in the city, it's on the outskirts of the town, so it's quite a distance. I couldn't find a parking lot, so I parked on the street for a while.
