The Paoma Ancient Road is one of the branch lines of the Danlan Ancient Road, located in the boundary between Wulai District, Xinbei City and Toucheng Town, Yilan County, Jiaoxi Township; starting from the Shipai Station of Beiyi Highway, to the Wufeng Banner, the whole length is 7 kilometers.
Located in Keuxi Township, Yilan County, Runma Ancient Road belongs to one section of the southern line of "Tarangu Road" and lies between Shipai (the highest point of Beiyi Highway, the junction of New North and Yilan) and Keuxi. During World War II, Japanese officers and soldiers often patrolled the road on horseback. It is the most complete preserved section of Beiyi Ancient Road. Along the road, there are beautiful mountains and rivers, overlooking the scenery of Guishan Island on the way. Lanyang Plain is a popular mountain climbing trail with gentle slope and beautiful scenery.
Running Horse Road is the most beautiful place in Yilan County. The whole ancient road is made of wood and has been repaired for a long time. It was here in ancient times, an uphill section.
