My favorite shrine
Original Text
There is a long staircase to get to the main shrine. You can also visit under the stairs. The structure is quite normal, but I feel romantic about the story of the nun about this shrine.
Climb 187 stone steps to the main shrine. It used to be a small island floating in the middle sea. The entire mountain, which is about 36 meters high, is covered with terrace trees and is a shrine rich in nature. It is said that there is a benefit of prolonging life and longevity. It is said that the legend of the origin of the place name Yonago is also in this Awashima.
From the parking lot, I go up the 187 stairs, but I continue to climb the straight stairs and go up to the altitude 36m. If you worship and turn back, you can see the Nakaumi. It is Kamiyama, and the head office is one of the Awashima Shrines in Wakayama, and Shohikona no Mikoto is the deity. Shohikona no Mikoto is described in "Hoki no Kuni Fudoki" and there is a similar literature in "Nihonshoki".
8/26 Arrived at 16:00 on Saturday. It is just off the signboard on the main street. A group of worshipers ahead. The hall of worship is on the hill, so climb the long stairs. When you climb it, there is a quiet company and it has a very atmosphere. The view is also good. "Oiwa-san" and "Yahakuhioka" are on the right side of the stairs. Both were simple and I felt that they were valued. It's a wetland, so I think there are insects and snakes. I saw a big lizard. Not very touristy ...

ミニ Bird House
I visited because I drove nearby. After all, the "Mini Torii" should be noted. Is it the smallest torii I've ever seen? I enjoyed it.
