    Moss stone Buddha

    Original Text

It is a place where countless stone Buddhas are engraved on the rocks. Many of the rocks are mossy, giving you a unique atmosphere in silence. It is a slippery place, so we recommend visiting with comfortable shoes and clothes. I think it's a good idea to visit with the nearby Ushi Tori.

From Hanamaki, get off at the Tono Interchange, turn left at the first traffic light, follow the information board and follow the mountain road of the cedar forest, and you will arrive at this place. If you go along the mountain road while listening to the sound of the swamp, a moss-covered rock appears rumblingly. Buddha was engraved under the moss, and it was covered with moss over the years. Still, there are rocks where you can see the face of the Buddha carved 々. This place is said to have been carved by the statue of Rakan on natural granite to commemorate the victims of the great famine 200 years ago ...

Rakan-sama dug on mossy rocks and stone slabs. There was a color 々 expression. It seems to be Tohoku that it is in harmony with nature. There are some slippery places up and down 々, so it is recommended to bring a cane that is provided nearby.

    Rakansama carved naturally on stones

    Original Text

Several parking lots can be parked. From there, you will cross a small bridge and then climb the rocky area, but Rakan-sama is engraved on the mossy natural stone. There is moss in the place where you walk, and you need to climb carefully so that it does not slip.

    We're working on the destination.

Therefore, I will be forced to make a detour. Mr. Unedori, I will climb the mountain road beside Atago Shrine. I walk quite a bit. It is a memorial tower for those who died in famine. The countless sights feel the weight of history. Many of them are mossed and cannot see the pattern, but the more you go back, the more you can see it. Please be careful not to slip.
