It is a temple built in the place where Honen Shonin, the founder of the Jodo sect, was born. Naomi Kumagai, a disciple of Honen, who is famous for the Genpei War, built a temple in the place where Honen was born. The Mikagedo and Sanmon of the main hall, which were rebuilt in the Edo period, are important cultural properties and are very magnificent temples. It is the first temple of the 25th Hoen Shonin Sacred Site.

It is a temple built by Naomi Kumagai, the hero of the Genpei Battle, on the site of the master Honen Shonin's mansion. There is only the site of the mansion, and there is also a mausoleum of Honen Shonin's parents in the precincts. It's a sacred place for the Jodo sect. It's a 10-minute walk from JR Soshiji Station, and there are signs, so I think it's easy to get there. As an aside, looking at the streams flowing through the precincts and the natural scenery surrounding Seshido, I think that the time of autumn leaves looks very wonderful. It's a good temple.

After its founding, it was a relatively new temple for a shrine and temple of about ８２５ years.
