A good night out watching the Jerseys Live
My wife and I, along with our two long-time friends, all of us in our sixties, booked to see the Jersey’s live, and it wasn’t too bad a first visit to this theatre. We knew that there was a small car park outside the theatre, and as the doors opened at half past six we decided to get there just prior to that. We arrived at around six-twenty, but the car park was already full. No problems I thought, as there is a multi-storey right next to the theatre (Newarke Street), so I drove the short distance to it, only to find that it was closed. This is truly unbelievable and goodness only knows why Leicester City Council, who own the car-park, close it at six on a Sunday, especially as it uses ANPR to charge customers. I then spent the next fifteen minutes driving around the nearby streets looking for somewhere to park (be aware that the closest streets are restricted parking zones, so you have to park quite a few streets away, if you can find a space that is). Heading straight for the Highcross might be a better option, especially if you get to the venue just prior to the show starting. The theatre is small with limited space to wait around for the main doors to the auditorium to open. We got a drink from the bar prior to the performance, and service wasn’t too bad and the prices fairly reasonable. As stated, the theatre is quite small, so it doesn’t matter where you sit – you will still get a good view of the stage, and the stage is very low, so the front rows are not looking up, as per De Montfort Hall. Now, the seats are some of the most uncomfortable we have ever sat in, and we’ve been in many a theatre up and down the UK. We all agreed that it was hard going trying to get relaxed during the performance, and we were thankful that we could get up and dance. We’ve seen quite a few Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons tributes, and we’ve also seen the great man himself, and this was quite a good show. Our one problem, and all of us agreed that it was a problem, wa

Went along for my daughter's end of term performing arts class showcase. Easy parking either in the tiny outdoor car park or better in the adjacent multi story. Bear in mind that the airconditioning i...
In Leicester for a couple of days, we asked about the show early in the day and Matthew, on the front desk, could not do enough to help. Paul Mayhew-Archer was building up to his stand up routine at ...
