Sergiyev Posad is a city in the northeastern part of Moscow Oblast, Russia, one of the ancient cities of the Golden Ring, the origin of Russian folk art wooden dolls, and the manufacturing center of the Russian toy industry. The well-known attractions in the town are one of the largest Russian monasteries and one of the oldest churches of the Orthodox Church, the Holy Trinity Monastery of Sergius. The monastery is a beautiful complex consisting of the Holy Trinity Church, the Dukhov Church, the Tsar Palace and the 88-meter-high bell tower, which houses countless ancient Russian paintings, precious metals and gem antiques. In addition, the town has a well-known toy museum worth a visit. The Holy Trinity Monastery has a history of more than 500 years and is one of the oldest churches in Russia. The monastery built a number of churches, religious universities and seminaries, and later this small church gradually developed into a large and wealthy monastery in Russia.
