Siena is not as famous as Florence, but it is located close to Florence. It is one of the old city which in history it used to be Florence’s opponent in terms of development. As we can see, they also have a Duomo (cathedral) which look similar to Florence, but due to some reasons they couldnt finish building it. The city itself is very beautiful and hilly, so be ready to climb up and down #HalloTrip
This cathedral is a beautiful treasure in religious architecture. The magnificent church made of various marbles was built in 1215. The construction process spanned more than a century and was built by the efforts of countless Italian artists. .
This Gothic cathedral not only has an amazing exterior, but the interior is equally stunning, with 56 panels inlaid on the ground, from more than 40 artists from the 14th century onwards. Completed in 200 years, depicting history and the picture in the Bible. Inside the church is a famous Piccolomini Library, which enters from a gate in the North Gallery of the Church and you will find yourself in an fascinating library, also the library of Pope Pius II. There is a huge vivid mural on the wall in the collection, depicting the great experience of Piccolomini's life.
Cathedral Opera Museum, which houses the decorative art of the previous cathedral. The more interesting is the bright stained glass window designed by Ducho. After a long, spiral staircase, you can reach the panoramic observatory on the wall at the edge of the cathedral, where you can see a panoramic view of Siena.

There are many medieval towns in the Tuscany region, and I prefer Siena.
Siena is located in the southern Tuscany region, about 50 km south of Florence, at the junction of the three hills of the Chianti hill between the Alca and the Arthur River valley. Founded in 29 BC, Siena is a very old town with many medieval sites.
Go to Siena just before Christmas, the locals have a holiday, and there are very few tourists. Going to the old town, it seems to go into the movie.

Speaking of what Siena impressed me the most is Siena Cathedral, which is also one of the largest churches in Italy. It combines sculpture, oil painting and Roman Gothic architecture, built with black and white marble. A unique stripe shape similar to a zebra. To be honest, when I first saw it, I was really shocked. I have seen so many churches. For the first time, I saw the church with black and white marble as the exterior and interior decoration. It is super nice!
It is said that the church part we are seeing is only a side door of the church that was planned to be built. If it was built according to the plan at the time, the church may become the largest church in the Christian world. But this plan was shelved because of the plague of 1348. The
black and white stripes are the basic elements of the church. Among the treasures of this church are the sculptures of Nikola Pisano, Donatello and Michelangelo.
